Seems fairly reasonable to me, unless it is actually being misused. I'd say just add Distinction Without a Difference as a redirect and be done with it.
I'm no fan of the current name either. I'm not up to reviewing the wicks right now, but it certainly is too broad (especially if Freud Was Right).
Distinction Without a Difference is bland and clunky as redirects go. Trivial Distinction or Semantic Difference? Or maybe Superficial Difference?
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I think going back to pest control would be best....*shrugs*
or What Difference Does It Make ?
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I want to suggest "Non-Denial Denial" but that would be a case of the Trope Namer not being an example and I hate that.
But soft! What rock through yonder window breaks? It is a brick! And Juliet is out cold.Would this be considered a sub/sister trope to Insistent Terminology?
Distinction Without a Difference is an okay redirect. I'm not really in favor of a rename unless there's misuse. Or if someone comes up with something really brilliant.
This discussion has been left stale for over a month. Moving to close so we can get the "Trope Repair Shop" tag off of the page.
Q: What Pokémon is good at treating colds? A: Cyn-Day-Quil®we've got good redirects, and no one checked the wicks to see if there was misuse. I'd say locking it is a good idea.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
This is not a terrible name, but it's a bit ambiguous - at first I thought it might refer to someone who says "no" but doesn't really mean it, or someone who changes their mind quickly, or whatever. There's already a perfectly suitable established term for this trope, Distinction Without a Difference, which also happens to have some Added Alliterative Appeal (it also has a Wiktionary entry with numerous examples). What do you think?
