This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

I've noticed that my editing privileges have been suspended. I've just learned that it was due to adding Franchise Codifier to the YMMV for Assassin's Creed II after it was removed from that page. As one of the users on Ask The Tropers pointed out, it would be better to bring a trope to Trope Talk if you want to make it YMMV or Trivia.
I hope that I can discuss this matter with the staff.

Looking at my suspension right now, it's not a good idea to disregard the edit reason for a specific trope especially if it's not decided to be YMMV/Trivia or a duplicate. If someone removed a trope for a particular reason and gives out a strong warning before, then don't add that back in unless you have to PM them about the issue.
Before you ask, if a trope is not YMMV then i'll go to Trope Talk and work on making YMMV. I've already read that Ask The Tropers post about this subject and I won't forget about it.

Hello there, I accidentally made a rogue launching on the 15th and I have been banned from editing since. Is the staff still angry at me?

~Chrononaut70: I see you also said the same thing back in June when we released your last suspension. Clearly either the lesson didn't sink in or you were lying back then.
To be more specific, while the post I made did mention avoiding Edit Wars I did not bring up Trope Talk in regards to whether a trope should be YMMV/Trivia. The one that I made now is about that subject and until recently I had no other Edit Wars with even disputes with other users such as the Anya Chalotra being resolved via PM.
As I said, after reading the post on the YMMV page for Assassin's Creed II, any trope like Franchise Codifier that has yet to be made YMMV must be discussed at Trope Talk and most tropers must say yeah or any on it.

So going over the edit history of the Assassin's Creed II YMMV page, the whole Edit War stuff happened when Franchise Codifier was continuously added and removed by me as well as another user four times. The same pattern happened with Harry Potter and Ghost in the Shell. Suffice to say, it caused a ton of issues because as I noted under my previous post Edit Wars when one user continuously adds/removes something multiple times (2 or more) against the wishes of another user. Giving out edit reasons that come off as condescending or rude won't resolve this problem at all. If rmctagg09 wanted to resolve this problem, he could have PMed about it like with other users and we could resolve it without much issue like what happened with the other users.
Furthermore, when Franchise Codifier was launched the user who proposed it didn't make this YMMV since it's examples come off as something out-of-universe for a specific work rather than something that happens in the story. Had they made it YMMV material, this issue could have been avoided.
Oh, I should also note that I didn't forget about the rules. In the four months that I was editing various TV Tropes articles, I never edit warred with other users. It is my desire to avoid getting into any more edit wars.

Not only is this your second suspension for edit warring (granted, the first was several years ago but one would think the lesson would've stuck), it was done on the Fan Nickname entry which you initially created with incorrect indentation, which was then corrected, and then you changed back to the wrong indentation.
Addtionally, you have a staggering number of notifiers about issues with your editing, including your most recent being about plagiarized content, which we take a very serious stance against. You're going to have to do some serious work to convince us to grant you a third chance.

An edit war was never intended, I apologize for the mess up. Likewise, plagiarism was never intended, and I'll happily accept a deletion of the content in question if needed.
If not given a third chance, then I'll accept an indefinite suspension, or a deletion of my tvtropes account.

Greetings. I have just been made aware that I've been suspended -(checks edit history)-some time in the last day.
Although I would like to get back to editing, first I should probably know what I'm being suspended for, so I may learn from it and also apologise. To be honest, I don't quite know what I've done per say: there was, admittedly, a bit of an incident involving me(unknowingly) using Natter, but another Troper made me aware and linked me the page, allowing me to vaguely understand what I did wrong and allowing me to (hopefully) make the proper corrections in the proper way.
However, that incident was, quite literally, over a week ago. So I have my doubts about if it's related; I'm pretty sure I'd be suspended earlier if that was the case and the person still found fault in my now-modified edits.
So! If it is not to much trouble, I'd like to know what I have done to warrant the suspension so that I may properly apologise and learn from the incident. Thank you very much, hope to be replied to soon.

~missingmoney — The issue that we are concerned with is that you seem likely to keep obsessing about a particular fictional character. The issue has nothing to do with "rapid changes", which might be explained by impulsive behaviour. You consistently went to look for ways to include complaints about a fictional character, who otherwise appears to be well-liked by the userbase. If we let you go, are you going to end up complaining about this character again, or switching to another target?
~jamgorham — Now you're trying to give yelly reasons in EB? That's not a good look. I'm not a particular fan of cursing, but people often use expletives for emphasis. Did you try asking the editor who added the word if they would remove it? Did you try getting consensus on if the use of the word was appropriate to the situation? Would you have accepted the consensus if it was in favour of keeping the word? I don't see any evidence that you did/would. Looking though your records, I see a lot of resistance from you to editors who are trying to reach out. You are doing more to create a hostile environment than a four-letter curse.
To address one of your unanswered questions, Administrivia.Creator Page Guidelines is the policy page where we explain why trivia subpages are not allowed for Creator pages.
~xxrandompeepxx — That's half of the concern. The reason why we forbid stealth launches is that they are often accompanied by not addressing the issues in the comments. When you edit the draft, are you going to respond to the problems that people have raised? This doesn't always mean you have to agree with them, but try to find a way to compromise or convince them of your goal. Consensus is the key here, not just ramming a draft through to make an article page.
~Chrononaut 70 — Four months without getting into trouble isn't a proud record. It's not even the minimum, as plenty of editors have been around for years without a suspension. Given the frequency of problems and your short history as an editor, I'm currently still of the mind that you should get your query privileges restored, but the wiki remains out-of-bounds. I can see that you're a regular of the forums, so this shouldn't be too much of a restriction.
We don't have a consensus yet, but you've got maybe one more post (not two, not three) to convince us that you understand how to find and follow the rules before we make a decision on what will happen with your suspension. (HINT: Talking about other users isn't the answer)
~Kytseo — I'm not sure how plagiarism can ever be unintentional, at least not at the level that we're concerned with. On the other hand, I'm not sure what was supposed to be plagerized. Even if I ignore that notifier, you've still received five messages about your editing this year alone. That does not represent significant improvement since your last time in this thread.
I appreciate that you're not getting antagonistic with editors sending you messages, but it doesn't really address the issue of "you're still getting basic editing wrong".

Concerning the whole Assassin's Creed II YMMV matter, adding/deleting a trope that isn't YMMV or Trivia yet can cause a lot of trouble. Anyone (even the most experienced tropers) can stumble into an Edit War with other tropers whether willingly or not over small details regarding a certain work (i.e. a character). And I know that this wiki doesn't give any fourth or fifth chances after someone gets a third suspension, so if I or someone else gets into another Edit War or violate another rule then they're gone, no exceptions.
So once I'm freed from my suspension, I will avoid any editing disputes with other users to the best of my abilities. And don't give out rude edit reasons to something that hasn't been resolved or universally agreed upon either.
I apologize for my bad editing. If some are the bullet points, did not realize that wasn't correct, and, about me putting Badass Gay on Tatsuya Suou, didn't realize it wasn't a trope yet.
As for some others, the wrong listing was used, and I'm happy to accept when others feel that another one is more appropriate (and honestly are, in hindsight).
