This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Hello, I was suspended from editing pages and stuff. I launched a trope called Open Matte once, and I guess my reason for suspension is "Launching or discarding a trope against consensus". I apologize for acting too quickly and waiting for the launch button, and will wait for more consensus next time. However, since I also have college work, so I believe I can wait a month as "cooldown" time (until Thanksgiving break week).

At the time, I didn't know you should explain yourself and assumed that you weren't supposed to respond. I also didn't know what edit warring was and didn't know what I was doing wrong. Now I do. Going forward, I will leave commented out text alone and be more respectful to other tropers' edits. I will be more mature in my future conduct.
So, I seem to have been banned from the Trope Launch Pad. I haven't been very active over there, and I can't think of anything I may have done that broke the rules. So...enlighten me, I suppose?

Hi there! First post here in the Frequently Asked Questions! Ever! Long-time lurker and recent trope editor here! Good day to everyone.
So I notice I recently got suspended from FanWorks/Gameboys (EDIT: The entire Gameboys page apparently. Yikes.). And I notice I can't view the page too. Minor panic. I've been having fun listing examples I'm currently stumbling across. But I am reading through the What to Do If You Are Suspended page & associated links to learn better. Not finished reading everything yet, but I'll keep at it.
So I'm posting here to indicate that I'm sorry for anything obnoxious I apparently did and that I do want to talk about the page and be a better troper. Admittedly I didn't read rules and forum posts all that thoroughly and am just going with gut feeling based on what I've seen in other works' pages. Hope you guys are well and safe!

~Woodsy Grabass 2019: Yeah, readding Karmic Death after others had removed it from Characters.The Incredibles is the suspension reason. When people disagree with your edits you don't simply keep readding the edit.

~FFaddict: Greetings. You are suspended because you kept restoring the wrong formatting to AwesomeMusic.Gameboys. Not only do the names of short tracks go between quote tags and not italics, when people disagree with your edit you don't just ram it through.
~Kiacopia: So as long as you are suspended, you can't add anything to the cutlist. Your replies to my response to your first query are a little disorganized and their grammar is still somewhat shoddy. I think you ought to run your edits through the Get Help With English thread in this forum, for a while.

I understand what happened now. I was being dumb and kept editing and editing without considering the edit history. I thought I just didn't follow what I thought was the right formatting and tried to correct myself. I'm so sorry. I'll try to avoid it in the future by checking the edit history before I do anything.
While I'm still suspended, I'll keep reading up on the proper proper way to do things. I have already identified that I don't put edit reasons and I do tend to be a Serial Tweaker.
BTW, should I go apologize to mlsmithca ? And is there a thread in the forum for it? Or should I just message him/her?

FYI, my previous incident was because TV Tropes refused to use the correct spelling of "Wandenreich", instead using the incorrect fan translation "Vandenreich", which is still used btw. Dunno why being right was a suspendable offence...

Septimus Heap, I've gotten no news for a while now, what am I doing wrong? If I'm uncertain about an edit, I'll actually contact the threads, I just felt anxious about it.
I guess I'll get a warning if someone reports me on ATT, but I didn't get notified unless someone did it for me. At least now I know what I need to do to prevent another suspension.

Evening to our nice folks.
I've just received a note that my editing rights have been suspended and that I'm to go here to file for an appeal. I honestly have no idea what I've done wrong to have received this suspension, since as far as I know, I've always been editing in good faith and no complaints have been filed regarding me that I know of. While there have been a few times in the past where another editor disapproved of my conduct and requested that a moderator talk to me about it, I've received no such message this time around and no discourse was even had before this happened.
Please look into my case. I believe this wasn't called for.
