This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Hello, I am sending a second message to you regarding my suspension, as I am unsure if you saw my last one or not. As I said in that prior message, I understand that I was suspended for making overly long descriptions for tropes, and am willing to make changes to stop doing that in the future. For example, if I continue to post on the Get Help With English Here thread, and if I can make trope descriptions without making them too long, can I get my suspension lifted at some point in the near future?

Most of your edits have to do with production trivia, which isn't really contributing to the site in a meaningful way. That combined with your handle really makes it seem as if all you care about is drama importation.
Frankly, what you said in those Discussion pages is grounds for a straight-up ban. I see no reason to modify this in your case. Goodbye.

~Amazing Cartoon Hero: When we release a grammar suspension, it is on the condition that the troper in question edit accurately from that point on. It is your responsibility, and yours alone, to proofread your writing.
The choices we give are this: remain suspended until you can demonstrate that you've improved in the Help with English topic, or edit on your own recognizance, understanding that if you mess up, your ban will be permanent.
You picked the latter, you messed up, and so your ban is permanent.

~Billy MT: I want to be certain that you understand. It isn't just about bullet depth, but about what you are adding.
Under no circumstances should you ever add a bulleted entry explaining, justifying, elaborating, contradicting, commenting on, or in any other way discussing another example. All examples go on a single bullet, always, under all circumstances.
The only time you should add another bulleted line is to add a new example. The only time you should indent past what's already there is if you are creating a new sublist — that is, two or more entries for a particular trope or work.
Please explain this in your own words.

The forum regarding Help with English thread. Does the edit related post have to be flawlessly perfect or just understandable for viewers and readers. After looking at the response, so proofreading needs to be done by the writer?

We keep saying this, but I guess we'll say it again until we're blue in the face, or dead.
- You must use adequate English when writing wiki content. This doesn't mean that you would score 100% on a college writing exam. It means that you would earn a satisfactory grade in high school: a real one, not a "teacher sympathy" grade.
- How you improve your writing is up to you. It's your responsibility to follow our policies, period.
- We provide the Help with English topic as a courtesy. It's there as a resource for you to:
- get proofreading advice to understand what you're doing wrong.
- demonstrate that you can write at a satisfactory level.
If/when we allow you to edit freely again is entirely up to us. It depends on whether you show, via your posts in that topic or even your replies here, that you can write well independently. If your suspension is removed and you continue to make grammar errors, you will be permanently banned.

Hey Fighteer, I should tell you now, I am not normally on this site. Honestly... I personally read the complaints and ready to reform quite frankly, do to my sporadic schedule, I doubt I'll be on this forum 24/7.

I was suspended, I assume, for launching a trope I didn't create. Because the site allowed me to launch it, I didn't realize I wasn't supposed to. The trope had +6 hats over bombs, and the creator agreed to put it under ymmv, so I simply put it in some indexes and copied the examples to the appropriate media. My examples have been erased. I think I know what I did wrong, so I am sorry for the misunderstanding about the rules, but if clarification is possible, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
Ok ok, avoidin' any other bullet unlessit's about an example not used before, then.
Let me be frank, I got into this habit of adding new bullets because, in an unspecified time in the past, all and every edit on preexisting bullets got reverted, if not downright deleted together with the original bullet, because... Reasons unknown? No matter how relevant they were or if my edits were actually correcting a previous wrong/false/jossed entry. I've been under the impression that other users will simply defend their own entries tooth and nail and I shouldn't interfere, which is why I kept onto this habit.
I'm sorry Tien, but I must go all out.
It has now been 3 weeks since my suspension as was the agreed-upon terms. I hope the fact I agreed to this and followed through on it without complaint shows that I am serious, both in that I understand and respect the severity of the situation I'm in, and that I'm dedicated to improving myself even more in the future.
This time off was good for me, it helped me step back and think about what I can do differently to avoid getting into these kinds of situations again in the future.
I'm still not entirely clear on one thing, though, where is the line where a goofy joke post is worthy of being thumped to "protect my dignity"? Because those make up almost all of my recent thumps, and I'd like clarification on where that line is so I can avoid crossing it in the future.

Hiya, I’ve been suspended and I’m wondering why and how long for?
OK I'm not sure what you want me to say exactly beyond that it was a heat of the moment remark (that I believe was double posted because of the Cloudfare shortages) that I do somewhat regret and to avoid this incident happening again I'll be doing my best to steer of Discussion pages. I'm hoping my posting history is proof that this will largely be an isolated incident that will not happen again. Now may I request editing privileges be restored please?
