This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

We don't use set time frames. Instead, we will lift your suspension once we decide you are good to go.
You can brush up on grammar here and be sure to understand our ZCE and Example Indentation policies.

I have to ask you to go over to this topic. Post some actual examples you'd like to add to the wiki. The participants in that topic will help you with formatting and proofreading. Doing this satisfactorily is a condition for removing your suspension.

Hi ho. I seem to have gotten an edit suspension for some reason.
If I had to guess, it's probably over a short edit war I had with another troper in the YMMV section of Dear White People.
Actually I had not planned to continue it anyway; I haven't even gone back to the page since yesterday, but I guess too little too late. How can I go about getting my editing privileges back?

I did feel that were some that guessed that the game's less than successful run was a cause. Some people did state that, in addition to Bill's claim in the Direct video.

I sincerely ask you what I can do to convince you in particular (or any mods) so I can edit again. I was honest, I don't really care about work pages nowadays (that got me banned in the first place).

In some cases that in and of itself can be classed as ban evasion, as would your comments about using sockpuppets to get around this ban.

~Eagal: An Edit War doesn't stop being an edit war because you got bored with it. Given your history, you'd think that adhering to our site policies would occupy a little bit more of your attention. If you have an issue with someone's edit, discuss it with them before changing it back. It's that simple. As much as we'd regret banning a troper with such a long editing history, we'll do it in a heartbeat if you keep causing trouble.
~DAN004: Let's not play these games, okay? If you are wiki banned, but use Trope Launch Pad in an attempt to get articles launched on the wiki, that is at least ban evasion in spirit, if not in fact. Your issues are not individually serious, but taken in aggregate they show a person who does not understand tropes and does not respect the site rules. At a certain point, it stops being worth our time to entertain appeals.
~Rabid Tanker: We told you a while back that we would consider — not guarantee — reopening OTC to you if you behaved well elsewhere on the site. Given this recent post, wherein you made a passive-aggressive snipe at our rules, I'm thinking you've blown that chance.

Hello fellow admins. I'm here to clarify my suspension and learn from the mistakes I've done.
I was suspended last week Tuesday, from a thread I will never explain all about, because I consider it Old Shame. Anyway, looking from the numerous posts, I got thumped around 5-7 times (correct me if I'm wrong) all because of A.) Expressing opinions in a hostile way or B.) Saying derogatory terms without second thought.
Anyway, I'll let you guys think about lifting suspensions. For me however, I'm willing to fix the mistakes I had (especially to you deadbeatloser, I plan to never speak of it again and I'm sorry). In exchange however, I'll permanently focus only on the Pantheon Threads once I'm released, and eliminate all other activities and connections I have with other threads on the forums. Namely: Hearthstone, Overwatch, Dark Souls, Team Fortress 2, Death Battle, The Jimquisition, Angry Joe Show, The entire Yack Fest Conversations and every other thread that I may have a connection on but have not been mentioned. This is a way for me to avoid mistakes for the future.
All in all, I'm willing to change my mistakes, and even if those mistakes were unintended, I'll further take up action instead.
