6/10 The Cure going bossa nova? Never thought I'd be hearing it in my life, and boy was it a surreal experience after listening to their most acclaimed output. Genre-bending was never their forte, and those blaring mariachi trumpets only made it sound like an ill-timed attempt to make a Bahamas holiday trip background music.
Scaled seeker8/10 I don't love it, but it had a raw, primal appeal.
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Born on the Bayou
Hey.9/10. A hell of an opener to Bayou Country, still holds up to this day.
1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (all editions) progress: 426/1089 (39.12%)8/10. pretty great song but it isn't something I would listen religiously.
Shuumatsu no Jokyoku Owari no Hajimari - Pop'n Music
Cosmic human watches over a certain Meme universe.Spooky. I'm not familiar with the game this song is from, so I don't really know what sort of mood it's supposed to establish. That said, it's got the right manic energy in both vocals and instrumentals, though I have to say that the transition into the last third feels a bit abrupt. 6/10
Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)7.5/10 Smooth, although it could work better with some more original ideas throughout
The Velvet Underground - Lady Godiva's Operation
Scaled seekerOoooh, almost a bit grunge-y? As far as music goes, I could imagine a band recording it in, like, a basement or garage somewhere. I think the singing feels a tad off-key, but I don't know if that's on purpose or not.
Hmm, 6/10. I don't dislike it, but I feel like there's something missing, and the sound kind of mushes together for me after a little while. Especially at the end, which I suppose is on purpose, but I don't like it.
Michael Weatherly - Under The Sun
My AO3 profile. Let sleeping cats lie and be cute and calming. That was nice. I enjoyed strings and their baritone vocals. The narrative itself was interesting, going from sweet to depressing to kind of flighty. The hook felt a bit cliche, but it was still earnest and helps give the song that warm feeling. 7.5/10
Oh, hey there, Nu Metal! Nice to see you are safe and sound in the late tens, 3/5.
Би-2 - Моя любовь (Bi-2 - My Love)
Spiral out, keep going.8.5/10 A wonderful goth ballad with that distinctly glum Russian flavor, it's no Kino or Tsoi, but a great number that'll leave you longing nonetheless
Scaled seeker73/100 - I wish the rest of it was as out there as its opening with its full throttle semi-mechanized, oblique mishmash of sounds. Its more straightforward rock grooves aren't bad but it's hard to not feel like they're kinda just spacing out the truly bonkers moments.
6/10 Those riffs are as gratuitous as they are good, but I really don't know what to think about that vocal style. It's just hard to appreciate personally.
I may be on a soft electronica kick, more research needed

Joke? Why are you calling it a joke? You drew a picture of two dudes hugging and wrote "I love hugs!" on it.7/10 The opening was perfect. I absolutely loved the synths and the layered beat. The vocals kind of threw me off, though. I don't think they fit the tone of the rest of the production.
There is no war in Ba Sing Se.I like the way the trippy synths and hip-hop beats mesh together. 7/10
Gang of Youths - Keep Me In The Open
Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)30/100 - Nearly six minutes but without the content to really make it work. The played out crescendo format and the honestly kind of forced sounding profanit and on-the-nose lyricsal references only add to this unusually dialed in, sterile atmosphere where everything feels too carefully put together to feel very genuine or impactful. It's stilted in other words and its impact feels like a mimicry of an emotion rather than the real deal.

6.7/10 Passable headbanger, but I don't hear anything outstanding about this track, and the vocals are really disjointed that doesn't really fit well with the drowned out riffs
Soda Stereo - Ella usó mi cabeza como un revolver
Scaled seekerPretty beautiful piece. 7/10.
3/10. The song's kind of annoying and the video feels like a fever dream.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.24/100 - On one hand, it's cool to hear the German language sung so cleanly. On the other hand, it's just not a very memorable radio-friendly pop/rock number without anything to really give it an identity beyond being catchy.
Weeping Sores - The Leech Called Shame

8/10
Oof, disgustingly heavy. I can feel my soul and skull being crushed into oblivion just from hearing this song alone
Built to Spill - I Would Hurt a Fly
Scaled seekerI like how the lead guitar maintains the balance of sounding dirty and aggressive without going overboard. A pretty nice listen all around. 7/10
Suresh Wadker - Goron Ki Na Kalon Ki Duniya Hai Dilwalon Ki (Disco Dancer OST)
Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)Oh my god. That brings back memories. The most interesting thing about old Bollywood songs is that they're so cheerful and optimistic and catchy that you want to just strangle someone. India produces a lot of movies and after a while all the songs blur into one shining and steaming mass of wholesomeness that leaves you slackjawed and not wanting for more. Same thing with Disco Dancer - so upbeat it's cheesy, so catchy you want to scrape your brain out of your skull, 4/5.
А-Студио - Еще люблю (A-Studio - Still in Love with You)
Spiral out, keep going.
9/10 It was an interesting composition and fun to listen to.
