The "Rate the band above you" and "Now listening to..." threads had a child, and this is it. I guess it doesn't absolutely have to be the song you are listening to at this very second but I think it would be more interesting that way? So anyway.

EDIT: I've just thought this should probably go in the Forum Games subforum rather than here.

7/10. Need to listen to more Modest Mouse.

^^ I didn't know until watching that video that Daniel Rossen of Grizzly Bear was also the singer in Department of Eagles. Awesome.

6/10 - I know that a lot of the stuff I listen to owes a lot to Pink Floyd, and this track is pretty good, but my attention span couldn't put up with all 9 minutes of it. And this from someone who listens to Post-Rock on a regular basis. AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

7/10 I love the visuals for the video and the sound was brilliant.

Now for something completely random!

6/10 - Not particularly absorbing. Sounds vaguely Beatle-ish in some way, though why, I don't know. No complaints though.

5/10 I probably would have rated higher but hip-hop isn't really my thing. I do however respect DJ Shadow.

10/10 for the video alone. Wow. The music is maybe 7/10, so 17/20 over 2...

8.5/10

7/10 (I'm beginning to sense a pattern here). Normally I'm not a fan of Hip-Hop of any sort, but that was pretty freakin' sweet.

Note: album version has more instruments.

6/10 I have a feeling it sounds better with the rest of the band.

Quite possibly the best cover ever:

I give it a 6/10. It's a clever concept - reversing the empty vocal theatrics with CAKE's signature monotone, but once you get past that there's not much left over.

7/10 Catchy but generic. His voice is a little too high for my liking. The lyrics are pretty cutesy and saccharine, but I like that type of thing.
