Also, it would be a lore nightmare to explain how you suddenly have thousands of Garleans (players) all being good guys, all being able to walk around in Eorzea without someone wanting to blast their head off.

The same way they explained the thousands of people that were all the other races one night, then woke up the next morning as Au Ra: they don't.

Cid, Nero, and Lucia manage it fine enough.

Lucia hides it, Cid is a public defector of his homeland, and Nero is Nero

I recall reading somewhere that standard issue for Garlean defectors from the Empire is to be imprisoned for a short time to make sure their defection is genuine before being conscripted into a Grand Company both to put them to use and to protect them from less-tolerant smallfolk who would kill them for that third eye, that or they sign up with the Ironworks and that's good enough since they're working under Cid, who is trusted.

I can't remember where I saw that though so I can't say that's not just the RP community's generally-accepted headcanon for Garlean characters being tolerated, my only other place I could think of was the lore book, which I never owned and need most of the info from second-hand.

In the Au Ra's case, they did explain why they appeared; The Empire basically drove them out of their homelands. Viera would probably have a similar excuse if they were included. Garleans are too integrated with what the story is now and, aesthetically, they're just taller Hyurs. On top of that, we're talking about pure blooded Garleans, which (if I am remembering the lore book correctly) aren't that high in number and most of the Garlemald population are made of up people they captured/imprisoned from other locales.

Also true, but lore is flexible. XIV is weird in that for as much lore as it explains, they also avoid doing a lot of definitive "this is how this works" to things that could still develop later, the only absolutes are for things that are well passed from being relevant like the origins of Nael's gender confusion. It wouldn't be impossible for there to be; a lot more Garlean purebloods, and/or a lot more resonants from some no-name echo user getting used as the master subject.

Digressing a bit from that though, if they had to pick an unobvious job besides the 3 the leak said and fanbase wants, which would it be? I'd personally prefer some form of pet class, be it beastmaster or puppetmaster. Summoner's moved really far away from being "the pet class", until Bahamut's ready to pop the carbuncles and egis are just a thing on the side while the SMN build to go into nuker mode.

x6 I really don't want to see another pet class until they do something to improve the pet AI and controls, because right now, the kindest thing I can say about that is "It's better than XI's".

Calling it now: Dark Knight is going to get sidelined in favor of the Gunblader, like Monk did in favor of Samurai

Multiple new jobs this expansion but they aren't officially revealing them right now. But informally one of the new jobs is revealed in the teaser the Gunblade job anyway.

TP and MP are going to be combined in the expansion.

Ho shit the Nu Mou are a beast tribe and they are adorable! Expansion will also have Pixies and Dwarves.

Blue Mage sounds like a hell of a Mechanically Unusual Class, even outside of just their Learn gimmick.

Starting cap is at 50 and going up with patches? It's really weird, but I guess it makes sense, I imagine the Learned moves and degree of customization you get with them balancing endgame around them will be nigh-impossible.
