I'd rather WWHD over TPHD only because I own TPHD and not WWHD.
But I'm still hoping for a double pack.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobOkay. But what if... 3D remakes of Zelda 1 and 2, like the Link's Awakening remake?
Thumbs down. Zelda 1 and 2 deserve a lot of respect, but aren't very fun to play these days. A graphical update like they did for LA won't do them any good.

I'd rather have 3D remakes of the Oracle games.
A graphical update is literally all Zelda 1 needs...
The things that come with that are, a better map, well defined areas, and breakable walls being more obvious.
The optional things that come with that would be more hints, more shops, and mini games to get rupees faster.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.spirit tracks remake plz!
New theme music also a boxOracle games would be nice, too. Release it as one long game.
If we get the Oracle titles, I definitely want it to be a single-package. That said, I expect a Famicom Detective Club situation at best if those remakes happen: separate games at $35-$40 each, but you get a discount when buying both that flattens out to $60.
Was talking with a friend about rom hacks, and I half-joked it would be cool if a hack of A Link To The Past existed, but it's Ocarina Of Time's story (basically as a way to play Ocarina Of Time on a SNES). Then I started wondering out of curiosity if such a rom hack exists. Google turned up nothing.
If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them.I was disappointed how A Ltt P's style was only used once, or that the SNES only had one Zelda game.
-Witty line-What style...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I'd argue that the Four Swords games use ALTTP-style sprites.
A Link Between Worlds was also influenced by A Link To The Past's style.

The SNES had amazing games from Nintendo's main franchises, but none of them had sequels in that system (unless you count Yoshi's Island, but not even Nintendo does anymore).
Besides, ALTTP would likely have been so much of a Tough Act to Follow that a sequel on the SNES was going to have a miserable reputation.

135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Donkey Kong Country 2.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!a LONG long time ago (like 8 or 9 years) there was a project called OOT 2D that was trying to do that exact thing
unfortunately i think the project burned out or got C&D'd

135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Yoshi's Island being subbed Mario World 2 is one of the most random title changes Nintendo of America ever did...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Which means having a regular Hylian protagonist doesn't work very well. It's before the Triforce, after all.
It's kind of hard to really make a good game based around that time, as they'd need a new protagonist that is unrelated to the Link design, nor can it be related to Ganon(dorf) or Zelda.
That would have merits... if Nintendo didn't retcon this before.
If you go back the early 90s, A Link to the Past was touted as the one and only prequel to the Zelda series. After all, it features the backstory of Ganon and the importance of the Triforce to Hyrule's cosmos. And in that backstory, they mention how the Hyrulean Knights who protect the Seven Wise Men from Ganon's army as they seal the Evil King into the Dark World during the Imprisoning War. Oh, and the Master Sword was created as a failsafe in the event that evil somehow took hold of the Triforce... but the Seven Wise Men couldn't find a worthy person to take the blade.
Link becomes important because he's the last descendant of the Hyrulean Knights and worthy of wielding the Master Sword. Zelda becomes important because she's a descendant of the magical Seven Wise Men. Oh, and Ganon is important because he's the jerk who caused all of this. With all of that told, it seemed like A Link to the Past would be the absolute prequel of Zelda since there's no indication that there was a Link and Zelda during the Imprisoning War...
Then Ocarina of Time came out and threw all of that into the retcon bin. Like, they didn't even try to make it fit with the Imprisoning War backstory beyond there are Seven Sages and this is Ganondorf's origin story. Oh, and the end of Ocarina of Time is so different from A Link to the Past's backstory ending that it is the reason why the Downfall Timeline even exists.
And once I realize that it's impossible to make the Downfall Timeline work without raising more questions, I gave up on the notion that anything is set in stone. The Skyward Sword manga proves that there is a base premise for a Skyward Sword prequel game. It's only a matter of time before someone tries to do it.

If they wanted to break away from Link insofar as a Skyward Sword prequel is concerned, an interesting protagonist might be Hylia rather than the Chosen Hero, seeing that she's kinda-sorta-technically Zelda and thus fulfills that particular fandom ask (and lines up with the occasional talk of a female player character that crops up every so often). The story would basically be the prologue of that game, wherein Demise invades and you have to gather the people of the surface and the Triforce onto Skyloft, then assemble the five races and seal him away.

What's wrong with the downfall timeline?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.it doesn't fit with the rest of the zelda timeline in any clean way. downfall is actually something that was entirely manufactured for the timeline, and doesn't fit with either OOT or ALTTP.
the series of games following ALTTP are all fine on their own, of course, and contain my favorite games in the series.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeI mean, with all the time travel shenanigans happening in OOT, I can buy a timeline where Ganon kills Link but is still sealed by a last ditch effort from Zelda.

I'd rather have Wind Waker HD instead of Twilight Princess HD.
