I'd like to see a full remake of OOT, too - someday. I just don't think it's time for it yet, and it's too soon after the 3DS updates. Give the new stuff a chance to shine, you know?
But five, ten years down the line? That I could see.
I honestly think the Gamecube games should have been on the 3DS and the N64 games should have gotten the HD treatment instead.
At least the N64 games are bona-fide classics by the general public's estimation. On the other hand one Gamecube game already had a well-aged art style that didn't need HD, and the other one is... well, you guys know how I feel about the other one.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.It didn't need HD, sure, but the tweaks to the gameplay were very welcome.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I swear, the Beaver Race has to be the hardest minigame in this entire game.
Nothing like stumbling into a couple of Banjo-Kazooie characters in the middle of a Zelda game, huh?

I sure said that!I've literally screwed up by running into the last hoop. Why are these things solid?
It took me many times to win the beaver race
New theme music also a boxI'm all for a ground-up HD remake of Ocarina, as I've said. I think they should put in some new content, though, like a better reward for getting all 100 Gold Skulltula Tokens and some kind of reward for beating the Marathon Man. The fabled gold "Skulltula Tunic," which combines the properties of the Goron and Zora tunics, is a good idea.
Also: how would you guys feel about Batreaux in Hyrule Warriors (or a sequel)?
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Honestly, I feel like an HD remake of Ocarina is pointless, considering that we already have the 3DS version.
I'd rather have Nintendo use their energy and talent for new and refreshing takes on Zelda than go back to Ocarina every few years.
"Thanks for the lesson. But I don't need you to tell me who I am."Agreeing with this basically.
Since Nintendo is going to make new Zeldas until the heat death of the universe, I don't think it's that big a deal if they take some time to remake Ocarina a few years from now. Ocarina is basically the crux of the entire series, anyway.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?"Big deal" or not, I just don't believe it's worth doing.
At least another ten years will have to pass before the idea of another remake has any merit, as far as I'm concerned.

Trans rights are human rights.I just find it hard to muster much excitement for the concept. I like other Zeldas better to begin with and would rather see new games rather than see Nintendo devote their resources to a project that would be limited by being tied to Ocarina of Time in any way.
I mean, Ocarina isn't my favorite Zelda title, but Wind Waker already got a remake not too long ago, so I can easily settle for my second favorite game.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.I agree they should wait at this point, but the thing is, the N64 era should have gotten the HD treatment instead of the Gamecube games in the first place. The superior era got shunted to a handheld, while the half-decent-half-bad era got the hype of being in HD.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. You say that like the handheld isn't the more popular platform.
Also it's a lot easier to do minor touch-ups and texture revamps on PS 2/Gamecube era models than creating high definition ones from what would basically be scratch.
We can talk about shoulds and what ifs but what Nintendo is what made the most sense for them to do at the time and I have no real complaints with it.
@Gilphon: Just because Nickelback is a high-selling band doesn't mean they're one of the best bands.
I assure you if they decided to make give the N64 games the HD treatment when they had the opportunity, that would have generated a lot more buzz than doing the GCN games instead.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Because clearly everyone has the same tastes as you do.
I, for one, am much happier with the arrangement we got.
Trans rights are human rights.I got the chance to play Wind Waker, so I'm really happy
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonIt's not about my tastes; it's about Nintendo knowing which games are considered triumphs in game design to this day. Which games are still held as the gold standard by both their series and genre, and even other genres. Which games built upon what was established by the foundations of their series without making additions that betray it. Which games that were at the forefront of the industry instead of falling behind.
It's about Nintendo knowing which games deserve remasters that have more effort put into them.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. No, it's about what you think and that's it. Nintendo release updated versions of two of the most popular Zelda games on the system that would result in them getting the most sells but that's what a smart business does. Besides, OoT was ported to the 3DS because it could serve the same function as a sort of tech demo that it did back on the N64 and the MM port was obvious since the original just reused OoT's assets as well.
Besides, even if you'll never believe it under any circumstance, the general consensus is that there are no bad Zelda games (ignoring spinoffs). You'll have endless debate on their strengths and weaknesses and which one is better but every debate I've ever seen about this subject ends with everyone agreeing that all the games are good.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Yeah, it's almost like they decided to put those games on the platform that sells better and is generally better thought of.

x3
Nintendo clearly thinks WW and TP are more deserving of HD remakes than OOT and MM and with people happily buying said HD remakes who are you to say that Nintendo is wrong? If anything they know their fanbase better than you do.

It'd be neat but I don't think it'd really add anything considering the 3DS ports of them.
