It's possible! It's never too late to resurrect a game. From what I've read, the story itself sounded pretty good. Demon knight, the characters meeting in a bar fight! It was the type of thing that I've done and seen go on to greatness.

Why do others fear the dark? The darkness is kind. You don't see your end coming, and don't have to know until it's happened.I'm still here, if that matters.
I'm a ghost, you didn't see me.I agree. This should be revived immediately.

No matter how good we are, were always dancing with our demons. So, I think the first thing we need is a story line. So, let's get possibilities. I think I'd prefer it had something to do with a blight. The idea of eventually fighting that huge black dragon (aka the archdemon) is just... It's absolutely amazing to think about.
Why do others fear the dark? The darkness is kind. You don't see your end coming, and don't have to know until it's happened.Well that begs the question will the characters be Grey Wardens or not? Since Grey Wardens can sense darkspawn, i think it might be best to have the story somewhat consist of regular warriors combating the blight, then possibly becoming Grey Wardens in the end to fight the Archdemon, and maybe a few of us die in the process of becoming Grey Wardens, some of us die fighting it and someone makes the sacrifice, killing themselves too. Of course another idea to toss around is that the main enemy is the Architect, and were trying to stop him from creating another blight. Of course this is all just my opinion... And on another topic, i'm assuming character creation sticks to the way you make your character in the actual game? Because i have a couple ideas for good characters, but they would probably fit better in a troper brawl.

No matter how good we are, were always dancing with our demons.Well, I like the idea of not having everyone being a Grey Warden, because that just sort of... well, it takes away the awesomeness. To use a metafore, if everyone can do magic, a mage isn't particularly awesome anymore. However, I think at least one of us should start out as a Grey Warden, so we don't just end up having them be some badass NPC who ends up saving us a lot.

Why do others fear the dark? The darkness is kind. You don't see your end coming, and don't have to know until it's happened.well, since this is gonna get revived, I am still here.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.glad to hear it.
Why do others fear the dark? The darkness is kind. You don't see your end coming, and don't have to know until it's happened. And i suppose since i've already started helping in the revival process of this RP, the least i could do is help set up some kind of plot. I would partake in it myself, but i'm not really sure how much time i'd have to play my part in it. (Well, that and i assume that each person in the RP posts near constantly.)
Heres another idea for the plot: What if it begins in the battle of Ostagar? It could start with a random soldier muttering one of the verses from the Canticles before we either find out he's a main character or he gets slaughtered by darkspawn. I don't remember the exact lines, but i'll look it up later today. I do know however that part of it is "I will not fear the legion." Again, my opinion is here and up for discussion.
PS: Try to keep in mind when you read any of my posts that i make sure that every opinion i make is supplemented by some kind of logic in the actual series. That's why i asked about if the characters would be Grey Wardens or not. Since they can sense darkspawn, it decreases the risk of the characters getting into an ambush, but kind of takes away from the action. You however, Dragon 572, have answered that already. Having one character as a Grey Warden keeps the suspense while keeping the characters slightly in the know and out of true danger.

Why do others fear the dark? The darkness is kind. You don't see your end coming, and don't have to know until it's happened.Did this start already?
Not yet. We still need to get the plotline.
Why do others fear the dark? The darkness is kind. You don't see your end coming, and don't have to know until it's happened.Ok, quick question for everyone. You see, I like the three classes and all, but I was wondering about something.
See, there's a particular character type that I'd like to play, but it isn't covered by rogue, warrior, or mage.
See, and I understand if you want to laugh, but,... I'd like to play as a bard. So, provided that I don't butcher anything too badly, would anyone be opposed to me sort of... creating that? I have the basics already.
Melee attacks, healing effects, and general purpose magic. He doesn't get a fireball spell, or anything, but he makes his allies fight more bravely, heals them, and can use magic to translate certain languages.
I understand if you don't like it, and that's why I'm asking you guys. I just like the idea of being the character who goes into battle, sword in one hand, and a freakin' LUTE in the other!
Why do others fear the dark? The darkness is kind. You don't see your end coming, and don't have to know until it's happened. That isn't a problem at all. Bard is a specialization for the rogue class, so it fits perfectly, and the stuff you're adding wouldn't really break the game. In fact, as a general rule of thumb for anyone making a character and partaking in this, specializations can be included in your character design. Although might i suggest that instead of healing spells, your bard is very profound in herbalism?

No matter how good we are, were always dancing with our demons.Cool!
Note to all players: I'm going to post my character. And yes, I understand that your time zone might be different, so just explain your... OBJECTION! to me when you get the chance, and we'll see what we can work out. The enjoyment of my fellow players is something I place a lot of importance on.
Also, I reserve the right to make my character do the Hare Hare Yukai dance at any time it feels appropriate.

Why do others fear the dark? The darkness is kind. You don't see your end coming, and don't have to know until it's happened.Agh... posted again when i meant to edit... I changed the above post, might want to reread it. And as another suggestion, instead of a spell that helps the party (and here is where my canon logic shines through,) why not use songs as your way to help? It could be made slightly funny, where everyone else critisizes you mid-verse for singing during a battle.
No matter how good we are, were always dancing with our demons.See, That's sort of what I meant. A bard has to use music to work their spells. You can't feel the magic of a song without hearing it, and you can't feel his magic without hearing him sing or play.

Why do others fear the dark? The darkness is kind. You don't see your end coming, and don't have to know until it's happened.Looks good to me. ...There's something i need to bring up. The computer i'm using to visit this site isn't exactly mine, and i don't remember the password to this account, so on my laptop i'll create a new account under the name Infinite Paragon. I'll have the same quote line at the bottom to prove it, so when you see a troper under that name appear on this thread, it's just me. And on that profile i WILL be joining this RP, i'm too engrossed in it's revival to miss out on being in it.

No matter how good we are, were always dancing with our demons.ok.
Why do others fear the dark? The darkness is kind. You don't see your end coming, and don't have to know until it's happened. So we can have specialized classes?
Well, I'm not trying to take a specialized class a make a character who isn't really covered by the three base class thing, but if it isn't overpowered, I think we can work something out.
Why do others fear the dark? The darkness is kind. You don't see your end coming, and don't have to know until it's happened.Whoa, back. Taking a minute to read all this stuff.
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.
Unfortunately the game attached to this kind of died... come to think of it I've got a rather bad record when it comes to forum games.
Games that have died off horribly that I'm involved in
...we can always reboot it?
