^Who tries to claim to Yammy is awesome? I've encountered idiots in the Bleach fandom, but most of them seem to irrationally hate the series, and even the ones who do like it know better than to like Yammy.
He's become a Memetic Badass on a lot of forums I visit.
He is in essence the perfect symbol of trolling. So many people only read Bleach because of how bad it is. They post about how "Lol Kubo trolled you" and don't even try to take Bleach seriously.
So, yeah, Yammy is like their idol.
One Piece since the introduction of Boa Hancock. The only place I can have a sane conversation about it is 4chan.
My god the Anti Shippers. People pretend the whole Fan Dumb featuring her is somehow new (Nami is still a TINY bit larger, it was threads mocking them for shipping her and Luffy that was mocked before.) but now they have EXPLODED and have turned from reasonable people to raving madmen.
The Fullmetal Alchemist fandom. Back when the anime first started airing in 2004, and up until the end of the English run, it was all Ship-to-Ship Combat and Fan Wank over the stupidest shit. Then the manga came into greater prominence, with its own Ship-to-Ship Combat—only now with a healthy dose of anime-bashing on the side. And then the first-anime fans started bashing the manga in retaliation, but still kept their own Ship-to-Ship Combat going.
There are some nice corners of the fandom that are basically sane, but they're few and far between.
Re: The One Piece fandom.
My only experience with the fandom has been on Livejournal, and it's probably the nicest, most accepting large-ish fandom on the entire site. Minimal wank, practically no ship wars, and people have great senses of humor.
But... Kishimoto IS sexist. Pointing it out is less whining and more along the lines of 'the sky is blue'.
And fans probably have every reason to complain about Sasuke. Shipping is the only thing that is stupid to complain about; it always is, in any Fan Dumb.
I do agree about the One Piece Fandom. It's better than Naruto and Bleach to be sure, but it still has flaws and it's story has dragged on without really grabbing me ever since Alabasta ended. (It's only slightly now gotten better with Whitebeard's War) So naturally I get sick of fans toting it as the most perfect, awesomest anime/manga ever.

Honestly, I don't think I'd be able to take this seriously if I ever encountered it. Mostly because I imagine the Fan Dumb as this:
^^^ Oh shut up already. Most of the instances of implied sexism are most likely unintentional. (Not to mention Kishi himself stated that he is not good at writing female characters) And trust me I've read manga that are much worse than Naruto in the treatment of female characters.
^^ As for Sauske, I understand that he is considered to be The Wesley. But some people take this hate way out of proportion.

A fandom I find annoying is a certain subset of the TTGL fandom. I don't mind most TTGL hype, it's great that so many people enjoy the show as a whole, but Kamina's Fan Dumb irks me. It's nothing against the character, but against the retards who make crappy Chuck Norris jokes about him, use the word 'manly' far too much, spout the same catchphrases over and over and utterly sideline an epic protagonist and one of the most awesome ensemble casts ever.
Because I choose to.^ I understand the sentiment and actually agree. Being a Gurren Lagann fan myself (though, again, I try to stay away from fandoms, and I'm not Raw Power) I just hate how, listening to some, the show was basically Kamina's gospel.

While they don't produce anime in the same sense, they produce films classified in the genre, so here goes:
The Studio Ghibli fandom. FUCKING. HATE. 85%. OF. THEM.
Or should I say, the ones that like to brag about how they have the only good taste in True Art, who hail every goddamn thing Miyazaki says without question, and who believe no animator is worthy compared to their holy studio? Yeah, forget I ever hated any anime fanbase notoriously know for their poor behavior, THESE snobby asshats need to get knocked down a peg. And it pains me to do so, because I love love love Ghibli films, but every so often, my love for them is nearly Tainted By The Fanbase,

What, they don't even count Satoshi Kon?
^Because Satoshi Kon is awesome.
I guess I realize that I'm one of the few fans who realized Gurren Lagann was ultimately Simon's vehicle, even though Kamina was kind of a spiritual adviser even after he died.
Heaven doesn't want me, and Hell's afraid I'll take over.I'm not big on the Kamina hero-worship either. I think he was way better as a symbol than as, like, an actual character. There's a reason the show improved after he died.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.TTGL is pretty much everything that is wrong with anime.
Except for moe.
So yeah, moe and TTGL.

Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.I'm really not fond of the entire Hot Blood thing, especially when it replaces you know, logic and storytelling and character development.
It's, I think, responsible for about half of my issues with shounen, for instance.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntHow far did you watch into Gurren Lagann? Because the first 6-7 episodes are terrible, and not really an indicative of the show as a whole.
^^ In Gurren Lagann, Hot Blood only replaces the first one. It basically IS the logic of that universe. Saying it replaces the other two, though, is just ridiculous if you've actually seen the show. This is blatantly not the case.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.Agreed on the Kamina thing. The guy was fun while he lasted but was never meant to be around too long; why he gets a fanbase larger than the characters we get to know better always bugged me. And those Chuck Norris style jokes...um, there are plenty more Hot-Blooded Boisterous Bruisers than where he came from, so what makes Kamina more special than them? Is it because he's manlier or something?
^^^ The Hot-Blooded stuff is what makes the series FUN. As opposed to some Shonen like Bleach and Naruto, that has hotbloodedness but tries to take itself too seriously.

He's only seen five episodes.

I guess it is.Then he has no right to say jack shit about the show. Except for those five episodes of course.

Bleach.
Me: Kubo really did something stupid here...
Bleach Fan: "I know. IT'S GREAT!"
Me: No it's not. Bleach had some serious potential to be a nice series. Maybe not the best but it had some good characters and ideas.
Bleach Fan: "YAMMY IS AWESOME!"
Me: Kill me.
