Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

I'm holding out for a physical copy so I'm getting mine late.
Everyone always says Jessie is thirsty but outside of the line she gives after they leave the train I just don't hear it.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!"My hero!"
"Aww, are you choosing me over the reactor? That's sweet, but I can wait my turn."
"Just keep those baby blues of yours on me!"
"Real nice to look at too."
"Looks are what people notice first."
"Hey none of my business, but are you fucking Tifa?"
It's like, roughly half her dialogue.

Wait did she really say that last one?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I mean. I'm paraphrasing a bit with that one.
Kinda wish we had the option to save one of the Avalanche, but that just not gonna happen
Broke: Saving Aeris.
Woke: Saving Jessie.
Bespoke: Saving Cait Sith MKI.
Somebody wake me up when it comes out for PC.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I imagine the remake will be a console exclusive for a while, sucks they gotta sell their consoles somehow
New theme music also a box1-2 years is likely. Even Sony’s games are hitting pc now.
It would feel wrong to play the Remake on a system that isn't the PS 4 & yet at the same time it does feel unfair for the systems that can handle the Remake are getting excluded.
Woke: Saving Jessie.
Bespoke: Saving Cait Sith MKI.
I was genuinely talking about having the option to save one of the Avalanche members see how they react aftermath to Midgar, but I seriously doubt that idea ever cross any of the developers' mind

Console exclusivity is becoming a relic and it's sad. Granted, Final Fantasy started on the Nintendo system.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Enlighten me how the end of such stupid anti-consumer practice ending is a bad thing.
The same reason people like specific football teams instead of there just being one big team - competition is entertaining.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Not when it forces me to spend thousands for another console just so I can play a game, it's not.
Exclusivity is bullshit, that's all there is to it.
Exclusivity is anti-competitive. It means people can't play games they want unless they buy extra hardware. It reduces sales of sales of software. I don't know why any developer or publisher would put up with it (other than first-party titles, of course).

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'd imagine the cut to the developer is higher in case of exclusivity.
Or some other benefit.
I agree to disagree. Console exclusivity is dying out and that's for certain. There are pluses (less money wasted) and minuses (fewer mascots) to that shift.
I grew up not having a lot of consoles so I get it - having all my eggs in one basket would have been neat. But in hindsight a lot of what I actually enjoyed about gaming came from the inability to play everything on any console, and the constant race to own everything, arguing with my friends over which system was better.
As a hobby it's a lot less gratifying without the brands fighting each other for exclusive titles, bullshit or not.
I didn't mention software sales. I said competition was entertaining. Competition between systems with exclusive titles was entertaining.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!"Entertaining" perhaps from the point of view of a disinterested party who gets gratification from seeing companies fight each other, but not so great for a consumer who just wants to play games.
If the console manufacturers want to make exclusive first-party titles, that's their right and I won't challenge it. Third-party publishers, though...

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I mean unless there's some law that passed that I never heard off, Third Party games making their games console exclusive is ALSO their right.
Nintendo will never let their games on PC though. Thats something I'm fine with for them.
For multiplatorm games, it depends on how they run on which system, and I don't have the money to build a high end PC, nor do I have the time to update it every other day.
Watch SymphogearNintendo has always banked on exclusivity. No point in fighting it.
Of course it is their right; I'm saying it's against their self-interest. Square could sell additional copies of their games if they don't make them exclusive. It's simple math.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
Already freed up enough space on my PS 4 for it. Thank goodness Persona 5 Royal doesn’t take that much space. And to confirm what I posted a page or two ago, the game will be available to pre-load this Thursday.
Has anyone in the thread gotten the game early?
