Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

IIRC Paradox bosses are harder than final boss Caius. Or, they're supposed to be. Lvl 99 in XIII-2 is really stronk.
This hurt me. It still doesn't feel that long since X's 10 year anniversary and accompanying HD remaster announcement.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyWait hold on the VIII remaster didn't add any more superbosses?
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
Bleye knows Sabers.Did it add any gameplay changes?
People were hyping it up like it was something but I thought it was just new textures and the typical baked in cheat codes they always add.
Uhh some limit breaks were rebalanced a bit ,Chocobo World items are found via Angelo Search and Siren was censored and that is about it.

> Siren was censored
My day is ruined by the censorship of the naked people
New theme music also a boxAs much as censorship is annoying, I have to say the way they did it for Shiva in XV is pretty classy.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.They covered Siren's crotch with a feathery bush, as I recall.
Remember when people thought it would have voice acting? Yeah, Square might throw in a few small features, give you a cheat or two, but that's about it.
"No will to break."Normally I don't even bother with Final Fantasy cosplay, but these two hit it out of the ballpark.
Narga & Aoki portraying Aeris and Zack
You know you're REALLY good when half the internet keeps getting confused as to whether it's an official CGI promo or an actual human!
EDIT/NOTICE: may contain a 'Feels Trip' ahead...
DOUBLE EDIT: Ok, should be fixed.

"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaRemaster Siren has a sort of wing skirt now
It actually looks better than her original design IMO
Heart of StoneYeah I don't think it's "Censorship" so much as part of the upscaled graphics.
But seriously. No new superboss. This sucks. I am unhappy. Squeenix re-releases always have a new superboss.
Bleye knows Sabers. The newest superboss is actually your disappointment.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Did the VII remaster have new bosses?
For FFVII it was the "International" version, which was the only thing the west got. Ruby Weapon and Emerald Weapon were added and a rather large amount of changes to the game were made, not all of them were good.
VIII, IX and XII are the only rereleases to not get new fights. Although XII had a lot of other changes... lots and LOTS of other changes but not a single new fight.
Edited by Memers on Oct 3rd 2019 at 1:07:40 AM
XII got Trial Mode in the International version.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.Thought it might have been that; Emerald and Ruby were in the original PAL release anyway. The only changes I noticed, other than things like the fast-forward feature, were some items and stuff got renamed.
It's been forever since I played the original PS1 version of VII, but did they always refer to Shinra as "The Shinra"? Because they do in the PS4 version.
Edited by Primis on Oct 4th 2019 at 12:15:53 PM
They're not consistent about it but you see it here and there in the English localization.
Yes. I remember Yuffie saying "We hate The Shinra" at one point.

It would be nice if SE tweaked their translations. Because for especially 4 and 7, they really show that they're translations of their time on modern consoles. The fact that it took a passionate translator to give 4's DS and PC versions a new translation is inexcusable. Even in the PSP port, you can still find lines and censorship artifacts that date back to the SNES translation.
"No will to break."I’m playing VII right now and yeah, they do say it like that sometimes.
Started over because of some crap involved with switching to a different PS3 (I’m playing the PS1 Classics version), but I hadn’t gotten that far in anyway. I’m already past where I was before. I watched most of the scenes online a while back, before all the ports when copies were expensive. So I know how the story goes, but that’s not the same as playing it, and I want to play the original so I have something to compare the remake to.
Which makes the most recent remake trailer a bit cooler, honestly. I just played that part and it’s fresh in my memory, so the comparisons are that much more impressive.
No thanks. The old V As turned in absolutely horrendous performances.
Does anybody know if the optional non-DLC bosses in XIII-2 are easier or harder than the final story bosses?
I beat Caius in my first run before I even tried to fight full power Atlas or thLong Gui.But I'm collecting as many Fragments as I can right now before heading to Academia 500 AF.Although IIRC you can't even get the Atlas Paradox Ending without completing the main game so I guess I could leave him....
