Because Kinkajou told me to.

So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?

My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.

I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

No interest in this. With the Golden Ending cancelled, I can freely say I have no interest in playing FFXV.

Now excuse me while I get hyped into the mining on JP Final Fantasy Record Keeper as it's Festival content and apparently Elarra is getting an Awakening Soul Break.

Also Kain's Lost Chapter was added to Opera Omnia's English version.

At least his story isn't another "FUCK YOU MANIKIN EVEN THO YOU DON'T LOOK LIKE ONE" thing. I guess?

Ignis is all the golden ending we needed.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.

Yeah I don't like the idea of a Golden Ending being DLC anyway. Save it for the 2028 Updated Re-release. tongue

One of the things Ignis can do is manifest an entire kitchen out of nowhere and cook in the middle of battle IIRC

Bets still on Tifa. This character should be an assassin and VII was one of the games not featured in the last season pass and probably the most popular one too.

I want to see another IX character in Dissidia because I can't imagine IX with high-speed fighting and I'm dying to see what other characters would look like in this setting.

Vivi is inbound eventually, I feel like he'll be the first marksman we get of the new season pass at least.

What's up with Garnet attacked Shell Dragon for 9999 damage at the 8:19 mark, though?

So instead of going to the first town in my first playthrough of VII to have the flashbac, I accidentally went the wrong way, fought the Zolom with an equipped Enemy Skill Materia, and now Cloud's just nuking everything.

Yeah, I beat the Zolom early. I ran into the mine area and got a few lines of dialogue, kinda ran off fearing I triggered something before I should and went back to follow the plot like a good boy.

You get some kind of gravity bomb item around that point that makes beating the Midgardsormr pretty easy if you're careful.

Poison also works.

Yeah, used Gravball and Toxic Waste on rotation. The hard part is getting your two party members blown off. A few times it was Aerith and she wouldn't survive.

Still, it's ridiculous how strong Beta is.
