Well...what do you like about Vancian magic and what kind of world is it? What place do you want Magic to have in your world.

Ever since reading Jack Vance's Tales of the Dying Earth anthology of short stories, I couldn't help but feel it'd be cool to implement the Vancian Magic system into my world. Definitely something of a relic of that pulp fantasy/Sword and Sorcery era, but I need some pointers perhaps. Thank you.
