I honestly think of the likes of It Follows and Smile (2022) as what would happen if Nolan made a horror movie.

Nolan would honestly probably be a good choice to adapt one of the more epic Lovecraft stories, like the Dream-Quest.

Could you elaborate on It Follows? That’s an I treating idea but I cannot see where you’re coming from.

It focuses more on the atmosphere and the dialogue than jumping out at you and saying "Boo", that's all I'm saying.

Ah yeah that tracks. I was thinking more along the lines of big cinematic blockbuster. He somehow managed to turn an Oppenheimer biopic into that

I haven't seen any of Nolan's films since Inception but I have a difficult time imagining him doing any kind of horror besides action horror.

Bloody Disgusting is saying that they are making a horror movie based around the Unknown - an original character created for the now infamous Willy Wonka experience in Glasgow.

Today it's March, right? And a movie horror was announced in January for a March release, right?

That Unknown movie sounds more like an out-of-season April Fools’ joke than a real project. I know right now the whole experience is a complete meme, but I don’t think after it dies down it’s gonna happen.

I don't know, it might have some potential. After all, the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the Unknown.

The Unknown is this case is an evil chocolate maker living in the walls of an off brand Willy Wonka that can be scared away if you make scary faces at them.

Interestingly, Dead by Daylight recently revealed its own monster called "The Unknown".

Because the producers said they’re aiming for a late 2024 release date, I’m asassuming the film will be super cheap and easy to make, so they’ll probably just release it for the attention. They’ve already probably spent a lot on promo, so it would be a bad investment to just can the thing.

They’ve spent on promo already? I haven’t seen anything… Where’s the marketing?

Well, I assume it’s not cheap to get a news site to advertise your movie

I assumed so. Especially because, quoting a twitter community note here, “production company cited in the article, 'Kaledonia Pictures', did not exist 3 days ago. Their website, kaledonia-pictures.com, is email-only. The website for the project, whatistheunknown.com, was registered 4 hour later. Kaledonia Pictures is not a registered UK Company.” This is pretty sketchy, and I don’t think anyone can go to a news site, say “hey we’re doing a movie!”, and get a whole article written.

Could it be that Billy Coull (the man behind Willy’s Chocolate Experience/House of Illuminati), be behind it…?

It looks to me that this would be something that he would do, cashing in on the notoriety behind his own event.
