Ooooooh, this could be very interesting. Rogue Trader is where 40K really got its start, after all.
Plus with all the adventures Rogue Traders get up to and what they're capable of doing...
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.I'm really curious to see what Owlcat does when not shackled to a system like Pathfinder. They have some excellent storytelling chops. Though also sometimes some bizarre design decisions.
I'm curious what does CRPG mean?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous are pretty solid, so this should be good!
Computer Role Playing Game
CRPG's a bit of a loaded term considering logically any fucking RPG game that's playable on computers is one, I think it tends to be used as something of a synonym for western RPG.
Even more specifically, it tends to be used for more old-school isometric RPG's. Or, at the very least, that's how I usually see it being used, as whenever someone talks about CRPG revival, they tend to talk about games like Po E, Tyranny, and Larian's Divinity series (sans Dragon Commander).

Hm yeah that was definitely more what I meant
Said it elsewhere, but yeah feeling mixed since 1) i kinda hate 40k 2) but this is part of 40k I don't hate and its pretty unaffected by 40k memes 3) its turn based scifi rpg, I like those
I guess I just gotta hope this game doesn't attract unironic memes.

Considering the worship Reddit has for a certain Hellknight and, to a lesser extent, overzealous inquisitor, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Why would anyone care what Reddit likes
"Hey I go to the worst corners of the internet and end up disappointed why does the game do this"
My main concern is if the game will launch broken like the two Pathfinder games and if there will be ship to ship combat (which the rogue trader rpg had) and if there is will it be half assed like the way army battles / city building has been in Pathfinder.

Read the post above mine. The poster hoped that there wouldn't be any unironic memes. Reddit's (shithole or not) unironic memes count as unironic memes.
May the Emperor, bless him, protect us in our journey.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Random question, are there any WH4K games that have campaigns for the weirder aliens, like the Tyranids or Necrons? If so, which ones?
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."I believe Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 has all 40Ks factions fully playable in it. Dawn of War 1's Dark Crusade expansion had Necrons, but Tyranids are only playable through a mod. Dawn of War 2's Retribution expansion is the opposite - Tyranids are in it with a campaign, Necrons are not. Gladius - Relics of War also has Tyranids and Necrons playable (the former requires a DLC), but as a 4X game I don't think it quite has a campaign like those other games do. Battlesector's Tyranids and Necrons lacks a campaign.

Thank you!
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Wow, a game where we play as humans? And that are part of the Impeium on top of that?! How unprecendented and unexpected!
And GW has the gall to say "the imperium isn't supposed to be rooted for, you just don't get it"
The Imperium as a whole, no. Individual humans, yeah, absolutely.
Rogue Trader's are kind of not apart of the Imperium proper in a way. They have a lot more leeway than your average Imperium citizen and the Writ of Trade gives them a lot of freedoms that would get anyone else executed on the spot. Case in point they are authorized to engage and even employee Xenos (and Xenos have been confirmed as party members in this game).
—>Yet I am but an instrument of his will. A sword in his hand. In his great wisdom, the Emperor placed a sacred mission on his followers most true.
From the trailer.
Yeah, clearly they're "not apart of the imperium".
What's the difference? If we get hundreds of stories each justifying one/two battles and their protagonists, at which point can we say you're not supposed to root for the imperium as a whole? How many stories/books/videogames do we get where we aren't playing as an imperial faction shown in a positive light?
Where's the scene of Titus murderign helpless Tau because they're on a planet the Imperium wants to conquer?

I shouldn't have to remind you that barging into threads just to start arguments is something we frown on here.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Got it, I don't have anything more to say on that front anyways.
So, considering Wrath of the righteous had romances, will the Rogue trader be able to bone the eldar?
Would not be the weirdest thing Rogue Traders get up to frankly.
(I say, having been running a Rogue Trader tabletop RPG for the several last years)
I wonder if we'll be able ot recruit aliens into our party. Some Rogue Traders do do that, after all.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.
From the guys who made Pathfinger Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous, a CRPG set in 40K, where you play one of the Titular Rogue Trader. Space Conquistadors / Yankee Traders.
