I wonder if he'll get referenced in Prime 4 in any capacity?

There's not a lot of evidence but its clear he started taking leaps off of moral event horizons once he learned about the Metroids.

He killed the Thoha, captured and tortured maybe Kraid, possibly fed his own tribe to the X, killed Quiet Robe, and ultimately had the plan to kill Samus and make a Samus army to take over the Galaxy For the Greater Good

Before metroids, he likely didn't attack the Federation (maybe out of grudging respect for them being another Chozo project? Or maybe because they wouldn't be much of a fight?), kicked the shit out of the pirates, donated his Best DNA to some random human orphan even if he then deadbeat dadded on the endeavor, and agreed to help bail out the Thoha from SR-388.

I don't know if he was ever very good but he's definitely gotten worse.

[up][up]Probably not. Samus had no idea who he was until this game and I imagine Prime 4 is going to be in the same time period as the other Prime games. At most I could see a lore scan mentioning the Mawkin or Thoha tribes.

If we are getting a Metroid Prime remake next year, that would be the perfect time to retcon the existence of multiple Chozo tribes into that part of the series. But beyond lore entries, there would be no reason for Prime 4 to mention Raven Beak beyond some vague allusions to a warrior tribe. It wouldn't really fit with what little we know about the game (it might have a time-shifting mechanic and the villain will be Sylux).

Where did the time-shifting mechanic idea come from? I've seen it mentioned for many years now.

I think the only (semi) confirmado idea is that Sylux will be the Big Bad (at fucking last)

[up] This interview from 2015, shortly after the announcement of Federation Force:

Speaking with Tanabe, it was clear he had plenty of ideas for the game, including a focus on a single planet that has a time-shifting mechanic, similar to Metroid Prime 2: Echoes' single planet with dark and light variants.

"Instead of broadening it to more planets I would have one and would focus on the timeline, and being able to change that. That's one interesting idea I have in mind... but I understand many people thought that [Echoes] was too difficult."

It's possible that Prime 4 could have gone for a different gameplay mechanic in the past few years, but as it stands, Tanabe mentioning it as one of the ideas he has for Prime 4 is the only thing other than Sylux that we can definitively say we know about the game.

[up]x4 It’s not like we’re ever privy to Samus’s thoughts in Dread. Maybe she was like, “Oh, Raven Beak, that’s one of my bird dads,” and just kept it to herself.

The JP website has Samus's thoughts during the opening fight, and she does think "Hadar sen olmen" sounds oddly familiar. Samus probably just forgot he existed since he probably did just amount to "some asshole my dads found to give me warrior blood as a kid" in her memories.

Insert Final Fantasy VII joke here.

Can I just say I find it oddly hysterical that Samus's suit capabilites are more closely matched by the robot soldiers than they are by the actual chozo warriors?

Like, you'd expect simple automatons to be less competent in a fight, but they're idiots with spears while the robots are fucking terminators with everything Samus does and then some.

I do wish there had been some variety in the Chozo-X warriors aside from shield y/n? and palette

Maybe they’d each showcase one of ye classic upgrades

But: the EMMI were already doing that and in a game that was already cut down to avoid crunch, individual patterns for Chozo warriors are probably a no go

I guessssss they just lost their gun privileges

The red ones have a projectile attack in their second phase, and the gold one requires the grapple to get rid of its shield. Not much, but all 3 types are different from each other.

The Chozo robots have a lot of moves similar to Samus, namely charge shots and the ability to spin jump.a

Also the little shitposting of Raven Beak and Quiet Robe earlier is reminding me of all the shit people do with Chris and Wesker.

What, get rid of the shield? I just flash-stepped behind it and unleashed storm missiles while it was busy attacking.

Yeah, compared to their robots, the actual living chozo soldiers are pretty damn harmless. The only thing that can reliably trip me up is the lasers from the wall.

I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't understand how to get rid of the shield until my third playthrough. I thought I just sucked at the QTE, but turns out you have to be right up in their business to knock it away. So I did the storm missiles thing instead.

I tried Storm Missiles a few times in boss fights, but I always gave up.

It seems like I would pretty much always take way too much damage trying to line them up

You can grapple away the shield?

...

Well I certainly did things the hard way.

My friends had to point that out to me cause I never noticed it. I also done the entire Kraid fight without parrying his swipes cause I never noticed that you could.
