I'm not crazy about either, but 1.1 at least clearly shows karaoke so that makes it leagues better than 1.2.

I gather 1.2 is something of a rhythm game where the circles are notes (buttons) the player hits in time with the song.

That's not bad either, but I prefer 1.1 because that is less busy and otherwise illustrates the trope the same.

I'm personally favouring the HSM example as I'm seeing it as a more expressive image that links more with the title than the 1.1 (though yes, it is rather crowded). 1.2 is too obstructive with that rhythm game mechanic shown on the screen.

Hmmm....1.1 is more clearly a karaoke scene as opposed to any duet, but 7 better shows the bonding. I'm torn.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
