Suggestion: Recap.Star Wars The Clone Wars

Hello, I would like to make an Image Pickin' suggestion thread for the images that should be included into the folders in the recap page of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The main reasons are because I believe that the top of each folder on TCW's recap page should have an image that represents what the seasons are about, I thought it would be cool and consistent with TCW’s other pages, and the sections on The Mandalorian's recap page has images. I was undecided about which images to include into the folders on TCW’s recap page, so I decided to suggest two images for each folder on the recap page, and the people who respond to this thread can decide which image is better for the folders on the recap page. It should be noted that the first images that I suggested for the folders of seasons one through six on the recap page are fan-art. I chose them because I believed that they look very well done and represent the seasons effectively. There is also the fact that TV Tropes has pages with fan-art images that have been approved by Image Pickin’ suggestion threads. I discovered the second images on Wookieepedia because I couldn’t find any other images that effectively represent TCW's seasons other than the posters designed by denisoglobin on Devianart. I read one of the denisglobin’s comments on Deviantart and they do not appear to mind their images being used by other sources since I have seen their fan-art on other websites, such as this one. I still believe that we should give credit to denisoglobin in the image captions if they are selected via the voting result of my image suggestions. I am asking for anyone who responds to my thread to please vote on the images I suggested that you would like to be included into the folders for seasons one to seven on The Clone Wars' recap page.

In the season one folder, I suggest that we should include either image 1◊ or image 2◊. Vote for the image that you believe is better for the season one folder.

I prefer the first suggestion for each, though you should really convert them to PNG (at full size) before uploading, then scale them down if they go over 2MB.

Eh... they are kinda samey and Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Season 1 — Season 6) + Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Season 7) have similar pics.

I agree with Synchronicity, I think the given options all look too similar to each other to warrant adding or changing anything.

What do you mean by too similar? The first image suggestions look similar to each other, but not too similar. Plus, they represent the seasons very well, not to mention the fact that they look amazing. So what if they looks slightly similar to each other. At least they do a great job at representing what the seasons of The Clone Wars are about. It should not matter too much if they have a similar format.

I agree with Synchronicity that the suggestions are too similar. All of the “image 1” suggestions use the same basic format, and the “image 2” suggestions are either uninteresting logos or just not very good.

No.

I mean, look at The Mandalorian's recap page. Its two folders look similar to each other via the fact that they feature the titular character and Grogu. My first image suggestions for each folder on The Clone Wars' recap page effectively present the characters, ships, and events that the seasons focus on. Sure they look similar too each other, but that should not prevent them from being selected as a result of presenting the seasons very well.

Okay, I'm actually on a desktop now. I've personally always found recap folder pics incredibly superfluous, but this thread is open and needs to be handled.

If we use the image one series I vote we remove the image on Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Season 1 — Season 6) (which is just an index anyway of two pages). But the most fuss-free option would be to use the second series (just the logo).

to the image suggested for S7 as it's already being used for Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Season 7).

The second images that I suggest for each season (i.e. the logos) appear slightly generic and unoriginal compared to the first ones. I honestly prefer the first image suggestions for each season. Also, I disagree with the decision to remove the image from TCW's Seasons 1-6 page since it is entirely separate folder from the recap page. Also, I believe that we should keep the folders on TCW's recap page help to organize the episodes more properly and prevent the recap page from being too long. Do you any have any suggestions in regards to the image to include onto the season 7 folder in TCW's recap page?

The Mandelorian and Rebels are the only Recap pages to my knowledge with pics.

I don’t mind fan art for tropes. But under sub-pages for the official work seem a bit far. The one precedent I know of is the MLP character pages using vector traces. Not sure if this is comparable.

Personally, I'm less than comfortable using fanart on official work pages if there is no reason the page needs images. And the official images don't seem worth adding. But if the fanart thing is deemed acceptable to add then those would get my

I think that the images used as Blu-ray covers should be utilized for Seasons 1-6, along with using the logo for TCW Legacy for that section and the Disney+ poster for Season 7.

Re: fanart: Seems unnecessary especially as recaps don't need pics and we'd have to go through the whole permission rigmarole.

Re: suggestions for Season 7: No, as I don't watch this show, but I am keenly aware of the duplicate image policy.

I have changed the image that I initially suggested for the season 7 folder. Also, like I mentioned in the introduction, they do not mind their fan art being used. I also believe that the blu-ray images are great suggestions, but I honestly prefer the fan-art images.

I'd like the official season logos in higher resolution and without the character art. Maybe we would use photoshop.

Okay, I've finally gotten the chance to take a look at the pics in the folders, and while they're different, overall they're so similar that I can't really see a point to their inclusion. Are there very many pages that do pics in season folders?

I see them occasionally, but then again I don't visit the Recap namespace too often.

Some shows do, but it's not a necessity.

May you please include the first image suggestions? Regardless of their similarities, I still believe that my first image suggestions are much better than the second ones because they are unique and represent the seven seasons of The Clone Wars very well. I also found it strange that Rebels and The Mandalorian have images in their recap pages, so I believed that it would make sense for The Clone Wars’ recap page to have images as well. I honestly prefer the first image suggestions.
