Pull from both pages; suggesting this for the play, no ideas for The Late Middle Ages.

For the Late Middle Ages, we could get one of those miedieval art pieces, maybe showing stereotypical Middle Ages stuff like castles, peasants, knights, etc.

Something akin to this.

[up][up]I'd rather just use the painting used on that cover. Not every work page image needs to include the title, and I'd prefer not to have an obviously modern cover on a page about a Shakespeare play.

[up]How does that show it's the Late Middle Ages as opposed to the Middle Ages in general?

I'd go with a cropped version of 4 for the work page. The header on 2 is visually unappealing to me.

For The Late Middle Ages, how about something depicting The Hundred Years War, such as this painting? I am no historian, but I think the armor and weapons used are characteristic of that time period, opposed to The Early Middle Ages or The High Middle Ages. And it's definitely more illustrative than just one person from that time period played by an actor.

EDIT: Another possible idea is the image of riflemen, as this is the time when guns started replacing bows and crossbows.

No 2 looks more like Baroque-does-Renaissance-does-Medieval.

[up]You mean the second post, or the second one in the seventh post (my suggestion)?

Neglected to mention that I like the suggestion in 4.1 for the Richard III page in addition to what I said regarding the page for The Late Middle Ages.

Let’s go with 13.1, then. Caption?

EDIT: It's in and tagged with the painting's name and artist as the caption. Old pic:
