Last Summer: A Murdergame

Jamie holds up his right hand, stretches it outward, and absorbs the blast.

   Do not resist. The Counselor cannot do anything wrong. The Counselor is not scary. The Counselor will make everything alright. The Counselor will take care of us. The Counselor is our god. The Counselor is perfect.   

The Counselor dodges Ken's attack once again.

   Only I can send you home...   

"Well, like, send us home or do whatever you're going to do and get it over with."

Kennifer... yeah, if she hadn't had it before she sure has now. She just wants to go crawl into a bottle of wine at this point and never come out.

"Then send me home already! You don't need to do anything else!"

“Please send me home! My railway needs me in order to work properly! It’s one of the biggest trade sites in the world!”

With a snap of the Counselor's fingers, the survivors (including Henry, somehow) are relocated to the assembly hall, sitting in chairs. With another snap, restraints spring from the chairs, holding them down as another contraption grips the campers' eyelids, forcing them to stay open.

   As a special treat, how about one last movie night?    the Counselor says as Jamie rolls in an old 35mm film projector again. After some swearing and fiddling with getting the reel on the projector, the lights dim and the Counselor switches the projector on.

Various images rapidly flash in front of the campers as distorted, backmasked audio drones on and on. As the film continues, events from the past five days fade away one by one.

After an hour of this, the Counselor snaps their fingers one more time and the survivors disappear, back to their homes without a single memory of what went down during the summer of 1983.

The sun sets one last time...

   That one was great, Counce! But the killers were a little lacking. They certainly didn't do as good as me, did they?    Jamie looks curiously at the Counselor for approval.

The Counselor looks at Jamie with the same wicked, distorted grin.

   Honestly Jamie, I think you were the best of them all.   

Jamie smiles devilishly, and takes off his sunglasses, revealing deep, inky voids.    So when are we gonna do this again, Counce?

The Counselor takes off their glasses as well.
