Mild update, but DMZ is confirmed for a 2022 release and marketed as a limited series. (1:01)

DMZ is a very timely story for HBO to adapt, though it looks like they've made some pretty substantial changes already, which they would kind of have to, in any case.

Reviews seeem middling to good, but this bit stuck with me:

To be clear, Peacemaker is not irredeemable crap, though its biggest hurdle is how it feels a bit like an afterthought, the spinoff no one asked for rather than a bold new story.

I've been feeeling much the same about it. Suicide Squad had a cast of truly amazing characters (Ratcatcher, King Shark, Bloodsport all being a lot more interesting to me) and they chose one of the least interesting whose arc and story I felt was already pretty well-told to completion.

I assume Peacemaker got the spin-off due to a combination of John Cena's star power and like Dwayne Johnson being a workaholic up to make anything.

At the very least regardless of how you feel about PM it is pretty cool how a really obscure character has been catapulted to mainstream success now.

CW up for sale by Warner. Not sure what this means for all the shows, I'd assume they'll be shunted over to HBO Max.

My longshot hope is that Peacemaker is getting all this attention so he can grow enough to have the mentor role the comics version had to Jaime Reyes. Bored John Cena half heartedly coaching a teenager through a fight sounds like a good time to me.

Well Superman & Lois should be fine, not sure about Naomi though especially since her show hasn’t started.

[up][up] Oh man that be fun. I really wanna see that now.

I just hope the Arrowverse doesn't get axed now.

The article claims to its too early to tell, considering Warner Bros has claimed to be selling off assets like WB Games in the past, and nothing came from that.

Naomi apparently isn't part of the Arrowverse...and it will have it's own take on Superman

Guess it will go the Stargirl route then.

Still hope for an eventual multiversal crossover.

So Peacemaker is out today with a 3 episode premiere.

We should make a thread for it if we already haven’t.

three Batwoman writers (Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux, and Natalie Abrams) will be making a pilot for Gotham Knights. After Bruce Wayne is murdered, his rebellious adopted son forms an alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they’re all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. With Gotham as dangerous as it’s ever been, the group of fugitives could be the city’s next saviors.

The series will not be a spinoff of Batwoman, but will be produced by Greg Berlanti. It’s unclear if the series will be part of the Arrowverse. The series is also unrelated to the upcoming video game Gotham Knights, which allows gamers to play as Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, or Red Hood to solve the mystery of Batman’s murder.

New CW Show about John Diggle...

The CW is also developing another new series centered around David Ramsey's John Diggle. The Arrowverse vet will star in Justice U, which will see Diggle recruit five young superheroes to go undercover at a major college. Through this experience, Diggle will train them to become the next generation of Arrowverse heroes. It has not been revealed what young DC characters will be trained by Diggle in Justice U. The show is still in the early stages of development, but it could be part of the 2023 Arrowverse lineup if everything comes together.

I think the reason why Diggle hasn’t become Green Lantern yet is because WB is preventing them from doing so because they want to do their own GL projects.

It just makes the dangling they are doing with the whole GL stuff really annoying. Either get it on with the ring slinging or stop teasing it.

Doom Patrol Season 4 is apparently introducing Casey Brinke: https://www.murphysmultiverse.com/exclusive-doom-patrol-season-4-to-introduce-casey-brinke/

I am wondering how smoothly they will be able to integrate her into the show, because so far, the show has struggled with having more than five or six major characters per episode.

Also curious if they will hire an actual amputee to play her; so far, despite being a show about people with various disabilities, I think the only disabled actors in the main cast have been Brendan Fraser (spinal and knee injuries) and Abigail Shapiro (cleidocranial dysostosis).

In a recent video interview with The Cyber Nerds, Matt Reeves clarified that the "Gotham PD" series has pivoted focus towards the Arkham Asylum-centric series I mentioned prior. "Leaning into the idea of… a horror movie or a haunted house that is Arkham”. (7:09):
