The Big Guy refers to The Team’s main source of muscle]] it is not a size trope.
It’s sister trope, The Brute, is exclusively a minion trope, Big Bads and independent antagonists do not count.
Groups other than the Five-Man Band can have Big Guys, as is with the other Five-Man Band tropes.
