Well this sounds great.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Teenage Unicorn Warriors...
Man, you’re lucky you’re Genndy Tartakovsky.
Anyone else would get the stink eye for how crazy this sounds.
One Strip! One Strip! Can somebody check on Genndy's back? He's carrying quite a bit of current and upcoming projects at this point:
- Hotel Transylvania 4 (Sony Pictures Animation - Theatrical 2021)
- Black Knight (Sony Pictures Animation - Theatrical - Rated R)
- Fixed (Sony Pictures Animation - Theatrical - Rated R)
- Popeye (King Features Syndicate - Theatrical)
- Primal (Cartoon Network Studios/William Street - Television)
- Unicorn: Warriors Eternal (Cartoon Network Studios -Television)
Wish him luck. If nothing else, this promises being entertaining on the sheer madness.
Wake me up at your own risk.In some ways, it seems to be a spiritual successor to Sym-Bionic Titan. I hope HBO Max is far more supportive...or Cartoon Network. Whatever platform the show is being primarily developed for.

Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Seems HBO Max exclusive.
As for the show itself, it's going to have to explain real hard how unicorns can reincarnate into what appear to be a goth girl, a psychokinetic African-American kid, an elf/alien ambassador guy, and a golden robot wearing a top hat.
But then, I'm an easily-persuaded knucklehead, so Genndy can go right ahead and INJECT THIS INTO MY VEINS POSTHASTE.
I think this might be coming to Cartoon Network too. I saw them promoting it on their Facebook page yesterday.
Cartoon Network also promoted it on Twitter, so they're definitely interested in airing it on TV.
Will it be on Adult Swim?
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.The article specifically says Cartoon Network and HBO Max, as well as wanting to appeal to both kids and adults.
Abelle Hayford is working on the series. Here are their past experiences.

Tartakovsky is writing Equestria Girls now? Okay.
Has there been any updates on this show? At all? The recent goings on at WB and Cartoon Network have made me more than a little concerned for it.
Nothing has been said about the show yet.
While this interview is primarily about Primal, Genndy Tartakovsky talks about the show. To give some notes:
1. He had the idea for the series thought up over 15 years ago.
2. He's producing both shows at the same time, and storyboarded at least 70%.
3. He's currently storyboarding the last episode of this show, and the first episode is already done.

Huh, nice to see this still going. The radio silence can get concerning.
Wake me up at your own risk.During the Annecy Festival, Genndy has revealed more information about the series. Logged by Nabil Samandari:
- Plot:
The show centers on a group of warriors assembled by the wizard Merlin to fight an ancient evil with the help of the time travelling Steampunk robot Copernicus. Through different periods in history, individuals are chosen by Copernicus to be reincarnated as these warriors.
In Victorian London, Emma is a bride headed to her wedding, when Copernicus turns her into Melinda, a sorceress of shadow. With her memories clashing and her identity falling apart, she now struggles to reconcile who she is and who she was.
- Production:
They are once again working with Studio La Cachette, who are doing absolutely mind-blowing work yet again, with an approach much unlike their previous work on Primal: Characters are allowed to be sillier and much more expressive, and the old school cartoon influences shine. The backgrounds are utterly gorgeous, with the environment of this fantasy version of 1890s London being a fantastical but also grounded setting. If you like Steampunk you'll definitely enjoy what we've seen in Episode 1.
Tartakovsky has been working on the concept for thus show since 2003 (!) and says that the main theme is about growing up, and turning into someone different than you were before. The show has changed a lot since its first incarnation, and was influenced by his kids growing up.
A new Animation Magazine interview with Genndy talks a little more about the series:
It's a show for HBO Max and it’s basically about these heroes who are reborn through time to fight this evil. Our main characters are reborn as teenagers, so it’s a metaphor for young people coming into their own and becoming an adult. They have these memory fragments of their powers. The show is a steampunk, magical mystery-action-comedy-drama. We don’t know yet whether it will be ready this fall or maybe next year. We are working with the same team at Studio La Cachette again. It’s completely different from Primal. I feel just as Primal was my evolution in the action and visual storytelling format, Unicorn explores the comedy and action genres and also has a very strong emotional and dramatic component
I notice he said HBO Max, with no mention of Cartoon Network. Has something changed regarding the show's airing plan?
A brand new teaser shadowdropped today, revealing that the show would be moved to Adult Swim with a 12 am timeslot on May 4th.
Still waiting for actual Unicorns in this series.

We have a longer teaser, detailing a little bit about the basic synopsis with more new footage:
OHHHHHHHH MAN, that looks bananas!
I guess WBD thought it ultimately looked too grim for CN, so since Genndy and [as] go about as well as peanut butter and jelly, they figured Unicorn: Warriors Eternal made more sense as an [as] original.
Oof, good thing I downloaded it before it got copyright strike'd!
