It would also suit batman to face someone who can out horror him.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I know its early days still, but I honestly don't think the casting for Batman or Alfred counts as Younger and Hipper.
Alfred's being played by a guy in his late 50s, and Pattinson (while he has a youthful face) is in his 30s, where Batman is usually implied to be. (Like a lot of superheroes, Batman perpetually exists somewhere between 30 and 50).
It definitely doesn't feel like either one of them was cast to appeal to a younger audience.
Wait, really? I feel like a lot of stuff has Batman start in his 20's
My AO3It depends. Bruce's journey often begins in his 20s.
But usually he's like 30 something by the time he actually puts on the cowl.
Then a lot of the time, he's just somewhere in his mid 30s to late 40s, depending on what the specific story is trying to do.
My point still stands that casting a Batman who is well into adulthood doesn't really qualify for Younger and Hipper.
Younger and Hipper is less about the ages and more about the tone. It's taking a story about otherwise serious, adult professionals and making it about youthful immaturity with relationship drama. Stargate SG-1 made a hilarious parody of that.
Wasn't the 2004 The Batman cartoon younger & hipper?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."And this movie isnt doing that either, is my point.
I think enough people here agree with that, so I'm just gonna go delete that from this movie's page.

Considering Damian's age, I generally assume Bruce to be at the least late 30s and at the most early 40s in the main comics continuity. And since Pattinson is 33 (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) and in Bruce's second year of crimefighting, that lines up pretty well with canon where he's usually been Batman for about 5-10 years by the time Dick and the League and stuff happens. And yeah, I know this is no longer a young Batfleck prequel or anything, but it still lines up with stuff like that.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonI can’t remember, has Jim Gordon appeared in the Batfleck movies? I was a bit surprised to see him black (if it’s him) but maybe I was remembering Nolan’s Gordon…
Then again, Harvey Dent changed from black to white between Batman Returns and Batman Forever if I recall. >.>
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.J.K. Simmons was Gordon in Justice League for two minutes.
Jeffrey Wright’s good at playing authority figures, given Westworld. I think he has this.
As soon as I saw Jeffrey Wright in the trailer, I was instantly won over. Dude looks exactly like Gordon, and has the commanding presence to match. Badass.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonHuh… I admit I’d have liked to see Jonah Jameson as Jim Gordon.
I agree that Wright looks just right though. But it also seems to confirm a break of continuity with the Batfleck movies.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Jeffrey Wright has the mustache. That's the important part.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Correct, this has been confirmed as its own universe and not connected to the DCEU.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonAh, okay, now it makes sense.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Unless the Flash movie resets everything so it is canon with the new DCEU.
Because if there's one thing DC loves, it's reboots.
Well, The Flash already has Affleck and Keaton. I think a third Batman would probably be a bit too much. Especially since it's supposed to be, you know, a Flash movie. I mean, I'm excited for the Batmen in it, but I'd still like this to be Barry's movie overall, like how Civil War has the Avengers in an important capacity but is still a Cap movie at its core.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonWho knows, it could be like Spiderverse with one of the Batmen serving as the "washed-out loser with a beer belly" version.

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.I nominate George Clooney for washed-up beer belly Batman. Yeah, he's theoretically supposed to be the same person as Keaton, but, screw it, it's not like he had anything to prove that besides having the same Alfred.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonI always found it quite nice that Alfred had the same actor across 4 movies, and that Keaton paid tribute when he died.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.x2 I don’t know. Val Kilmer seems better for that role due to him being the least talked about Batman starring in the ignored and (argueably) underatted Batman movie. He seems more like the washed up Batman then Clooney.
Also funny how the Flash movie is now doing to previous Batman what that CW Crisis on Infinite Earths is doing to Superman actors (and Flash since all three live action actors appeard).
Meanwhile the poor Wonder Woman actresses would never crossover with one another in some kind of big crossover.

My AO3The problem with Kilmer is that he has pretty bad throat cancer.
It's been 3000 years…It's pretty much been confirmed that Keaton's reprising his role as the Batman of Earth-89.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks Marathon
Clayface in this atmosphere will make the plot feel like The Thing, and I'm never gonna say no to that sort of Paranoia Fuel brand of horror.
