And what does Brainiac do with Flash’s powers? He just runs around like an idiot while slowing down occasionally.

For fucks sake, everyone in this story is stupid.

Thats also what Flash did. This is exactly the same as Flash's boss fight along with Brainiac throwing mooks at you every now and then.

There's only like 4 boss fights in this and they are all boring.

I just now realized, how are we on the character development?

Like are there any good character moments with the Squad? Motivations, development, backstory, that indicates some level of growth or accomplishment?

Uhhhhh I guess Harley is now friends with the Squad? They high-fived a couple of times.

Regarding Kevin Conroy hamming it up as a bad guy, he was originally planned to be Hordak in the CGI He-Man cartoon.

The videos analyzing the behind the scenes stuff is going to be fascinating.

I’m excited to see if there are going to be any whistleblowers on how this project became such a mess.

Especially on the writing front.

Man, Matt McMuscles did a great "Wha Happun?" video on the live-service Avengers game, so I'm really looking forward to his Wha Happun on SSKTJL.

And I'll be surprised if we don't hear people within Rocksteady express how making the game was not fun.

If this game had more character focused gameplay, it could've opened with us playing through individual sequences showing how they how they work, how they got capture which demonstrates their shortcomings and why they would benefit working with a team.

Floyd for example could just be finishing an assassination and having to fight his way out before he's caught by GL who calls him out as a former Marine that he had a dozen more optimal sniping positions to use but chose the one that put him in the most danger, that he knows a man with a death wish when he sees one.

Harley could be seen trying to rehabilitate to society until she's caught up in an armed robbery at a superstore but after knocking out most of the robbers she "unleashes the madness" on the ringleader when he accidentally reminds her of Joker, and almost kills him with a baseball bat before Batman grabs it mid-swing with the look of disappointing on his face bringing her out of her mania as she realizes what she almost did.

Don't know enough about Shark and Boomerang to guess their capture stories but you all hopefully get the idea.

i am legit convinced that some kind of developer mutiny was involved, like in the next three months jason schreier will put out an expose about this stuff.

i refuse to believe that the studio which made the arkham games made this of their free will.

Given development time and their noted inexperience in the genre, alongside some other events, it wouldn't surprise me if they just threw their hands up at some point, released something and called it a day.

It's genuinely weird that this is the Arkham follow up and Gotham Knights is it's own thing, when if you switched those around it would make so much sense.

I thought people were joking about Batman's being the most respectful death, but looking at the others its even worse for them. Flash's death is followed by a joke about Boomerang's dick.

At least... at least there's this actually touching tribute.

No Peacemaker or Bloodsport? Insulting. Either these people were grossly behind the times and thought James Gunn's movie would suck or they really didn't give a hoot.

...Aw, man. That actually made my eyes well up.

Amusingly this is something Gotham Knights is better on, if you play as any of the characters the game changes just enough that all the dialogue and story recognizes to change who your playing.

Meanwhile Suicide Squad always acts as if your always playing all of the 4, meaning in a way they function as sort of the dividual.

Which is probably why the cutscene incompetence is so bad in this game. Because in every cutscene the Squad is either getting their asses kicked or just standing around and doing nothing. There's no moment where if you are playing say King Shark he gets particular focus over the rest and has a cool action scene that changes if you are playing someone else.

No one has any good individual moments cause the Squad can't separate due to the always online squad function.

This tribute though is weird in-universe cause Lois is only mentioning the loss of Batman and not anyone else including Superman.

I imagine that the only ones who defend that the Suicide Squad did not die after 5 seconds are those who argue "This is not Dragon Ball, power levels do not matter that much in a fight"

TBH Comic Book characters of vastly uneven power level lasting longer than logical or even getting a win is about the most standard comic book thing ever.

There's the usual twitter arguments but many people hate the premise of killing the Justice League and some people are saying, "Well, what did you expect?"

And the response is, "Why would you think anyone wanted this?"

I compared it to making a Spider-Man game called SPIDER-MAN: KILL MARY JANE.

And surely there will be people who will bring Stan Lee's interview, to justify that Harley is a threat to Superman.

Not going to lie. Harleys final speech to Batman where she makes it sound like he's responsible for her and others villainy is kinda shitty. Considering how many times he's tried to help them.

The problem is that the game just handles its concept in the most stupid way possible that it renders the Squad victory unbelievable. So it's a case of a bad writing, like writing that Question can overpower Darkseid because just because.

Like they just boondoggle their way into Metropolis with no means of stealth or strategy, and the game has them always talking to a member of the JL meaning the latter has multiple opportunities to kill them but they don't because of plot armor.

Like keep in mind this scene from Justice League Unlimited.

Like there is actual planning and forethought. They aren't going for a fight, they are trying to sneak in, steal something, and avoid combat if possible.

When they do fight its against the lower powered members like Shining Knight, Vigilante, and Atom-Smasher where backed by the stolen armor of Ares their victory is believable.

And when they do have to deal with the actual heavy hitters like Manhunter, they can't beat them so instead rely on trickery like Deadshot coldly sacrificing Plastique to get away.

I shit you not this single episode has far more intelligent writing than the entire game. A kids show is more mature than the MA-rated video game.
