Wait, Success Through Insanity and the merge have the exact same vote count...
Personally, I find Essential Madness to be an incredibly unclear name (it sounds like madness as an inherent/essential trait) and I think this may have contributed to its underuse.

I interpreted the crowner option "Merge into Essential Madness" as "use the name Essential Madness". I thought it was already decided to combine Crazy Awesome and Essential Madness.

I don't think the sandbox is finished; (1) the paragraph after "This is a Sub-Trope" is as long as the rest of the description combined, which is far too long, (2) we still haven't finished the quote purge/selection.
If each of the compare/contrast tropes is similar enough to mistake for Success Through Insanity, then we need to point to an index that clarifies each trope. If we can remove some/most, then we should. Link to TRS threads in project mode here.
I just removed some of the "subtropes" that aren't likely to get confused for Success Through Insanity. It still seems too long, though.
