Yeah, it's basically the idea that when two opposite-gendered characters insist they're "Just Friends", it actually means they're in-love and in-denial. It's the idea that two people can't be Just Friends in fiction.
If they are, it's Platonic Life-Partners.

Yeah, if that's the case, the image is pretty poor. It looks like the trope is more along the lines of "one of them tries to start a romantic relationship but the other insists they are just friends to that other person."

The main Just Friends page seems to define it as "platonic friends who either have feelings for each other but don't want to act on them, one has an unrequited crush on the other, or their friendship is frequently Mistaken for Romance", however, the Laconic page is just someone in Deadpan Snarker mode talking about how it's not platonic and the Playing With page defines it as "a relationship that starts out platonic but then they hook up". So what is it?
