1.1 = 1.2 (I’d say this one could use the last panel as extra humor) > 1.3 > 1.4
1.1.
(Annoyed grunt)1.2 for me. Panels 2+4 might even be better than just panel 2.
1.1 is more a Literal Metaphor (or something along that line) than this, it's like the dialogue is set up for a bribe, but at the end there is no bribe.

The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.1.2, panels 2+4.

1.2
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?That's minimal consensus for 1.2, and adding the fourth panel has some consensus as well so I've put that version up. However, the space around the panels needs to be made transparent; can someone do that and swap it in? Thanks in advance. Caption in the meantime?
Don't think it needs a caption. Dude on the right saying "Glossy paper" is enough for a funny, side remark.

Original the Signature. Do not steal.(Annoyed grunt)
I'm good with no caption. I've posted the request for transparency in the night vision cleanup thread; locking this one.
The image shows a comically small amount of money ($1.25) but nothing in the image indicates it's a bribe. It could show a poor tipper or The Scrooge for all we know, or even the exact price for a cup of coffee.
I'd suggest panel 2+4, or panel 2, or panel 2+3, or the famous real-life zero rupee note◊.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!
