While the outbreak started around New Year's Day (12/31), it's picking up steam around the Asia-Pacific region especially since Mainland Chinese people tend to travel a lot.
For reference, the BNO Newsroom twitter has a special feed for any info on the coronavirus:

The WHO has page about COVID-19 and any other concerns people may have. I suggest peeps go to the Q&A page to check for official details.

In this situation, "recovered" means "no longer contagious", not "symptom-free". It's a problem with the ambiguity of our language.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"It does not necessarily mean even "no longer contagious".
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI saw on my FB feed someone I know post something from the Gray Zone that Taiwan didn’t necessarily warn the WHO about the virus.
Also showed a tweet from Taiwanese Ministry of Health.
Having a feeling that this one’s anti-Taiwan as I mentioned before somewhere.
PS - Said guy fully believes in what China’s doing against the pandemic. Oh well...

I'm skeptical of their claim about Taiwan but this isn't unreasonable, all signs suggests China has solidly locked down the outbreak. Unless one has evidence to the contrary this is a conspiracy theory.

Watch me destroying my countryFar left outlets like that whose sole positions are "West = evil, non-West = good" make me scream internally every time I see them. No. Just... No

Truly a shocking twist /s

Disgusted, but not surprisedFor everyone in the US: check your hand sanitizer now.
Here is a list of bad hand sanitizers.
Optimism is a duty. Why just the USA? It is not like the USA is the only country where people buy sanitizer.

Disgusted, but not surprisedFWIW, as far as the developed world goes, I've only heard methanol horror stories from the US.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Still might be a good idea for everyone to check that list, USA resident or not.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI did. Luckily, Green Cross nor Doctor J aren't in that list because my family and I regularly use those brands.
I don't buy hand sanitizer anyway. I'm content to just use liquid hand soap.
Same, good old fashioned soap cleans your hands just as well
New theme music also a boxI carry hand sanitizer with me whenever I go out (it was purchased way back in early March) because when I go out I don't usually have the convenience of a bathroom I implicitly trust now (i.e., any outside my house).
@Eagle:Who wants to bet that the CCP officers there are saying "Oh well, the virus is speeding the job, something good had to happen eventually"?

Watch me destroying my countryConisdering how seriously they've been taking the virus, no. There is no chance they're reacting like this.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnThe fact the virus got to Xijiang by moves so obvious like moving labourers by the thousands indicates that the People's Republic of China has the same issue of USA of Minorities getting hit the hardest...Up To Eleven

Watch me destroying my countryÜrümchi is Han-majority. Kinda doubt they have anything to gain by letting it run loose in the wider population right now.
Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)Is someone here familiar with the Russian vaccine story we are seeing? I've seen commentary in Swiss television that they are progressing rather quickly, but I don't see any source that discusses the biologic aspects and everything else is heavily framed in politics.

I know two online friends who have caught and 'recovered' from 'mild' cases of COVID back in March/April and they too are still feeling the effects.
