Surprised Mad World did that poorly.

I would've gotten Anarchy Reigns since I loved MW, but, well, I didn't have a PS 3 at the time. Huh. Funny, that.

[up][up] M rated games on Wii aren't exactly an easy sell.

Help me. I can't get it out of my head.

I remember there was buzz around Madworld... The fact that it was a M-rated (Over the top M-rated) game on the Wii was one of the reason so many people did talk about it. Hmm.

Anarchy Reigns is freakin' awesome though. That soundtrack.

[up][up][up]No idea but apparently someone from platinum games said the whole video was very much not true.

So he just did MK Mythologies Subzero, in which people who played it only saw the death animation alot.

I only ever played the N64 version, no FMV there... Not that me or my cousins could make it far past the first level.

This week, a legend among legends is covered. Kinda.

A non-native English speaking director who tells the actors to rigorously follow the script even if it makes no sense… Where have I heard that before… tongue

It took me a while to understand why there was a quick shot of Northern Canada when Matt says "none of it", until I remembered what that region is called…

It's funny the reputation it had of being bad was only surface-level in the latter 00s/early tens, until people started to play it, and realized it's a dumb, cheese celebrity vehicle with solid mechanics. Aka exactly the game it was trying to be.

Now here’s one I’ve been waiting for. surprised

A game that was a tad too ambitious for its own good and would have needed a lot more time to be properly polished, but still left its mark on the video game world.

This is an interesting one, since it's more about the developers being too ambitious than anything else.

Sounds like he's getting pretty tired of the "It was the style at the time" meme in his videos. The last two times he used them, he tried to move on right away.

Good god even Turok was unable to escape the grizzled marine with buzzcut in the late 00's.

[up] Yeah that was always my big disappointment with the game. I loved the earlier Turok titles, because they where a perfect encapsulation of 90's batshittery. Dumbing it all down for TEH GRYTTI was a massive misstep.

Surprised he didn't mention the multiplayer teamkilling achievement, which created quite a hubbub back then.

Honestly the game really sold better than I expected it to. But even if they where as smart about their release date as they could be there where a lot of FPS games that gen.

That's the sin of that game. It stripped off all the cartoonish violence and wacky dinosaurs in favor of just another shooter of the times, with maybe a dino or two.

Obviously they were going for maximum realism in their game about space marines shooting dinosaurs on an alien planet.

Its more like the fun aspects did not make it into the final game, devs don't make games purposefully unfun, what usually happens is that they start out with a vision of the game that's fun,but over time that changes as they have less and less time to implement the fun features they had set out to add, then there's budget to consider, time and budget are critical factors in making a game
