You should seek a doctor.
I'd recommend Dr. Folger, I hear he's trustworthy.
I don't know, I've heard his treatments can get quite violent.
He's a psychiatrist, not a surgeon. But I'm sure he can reccomend someone very reliable.
Chapter's out. I can't believe Bond fucking died so many times.
Secret SignatureI like how his response to Loid's "are you out for revenge?" comes off as Sure, Let's Go with That.

I loved the implied punchline that Bond was actually right about Yor’s food killing him.
Hey come on, maybe it would have just knocked him out.
Still means that Bond would take being done in by an evil organization than having to eat Yor’s cooking.
I also love the Imagine Spot he has of Yor murdering him for refusing to eat her food.
The best part of this chapter is that it wasn't a Bait-and-Switch. There wasn't a blackout or a near-death experience. By all appearances, Bond was completely right about Yor's cooking killing him.
So I just started this manga.
Absolutely amazing premise and excellent execution so far.
I initially read this as a bit actiony but mostly slice-of-life-ish story...then the secret police was introduced and suddenly tension got much higher.
It doesn't help that I come from a country that has absolutely terrifying history with secret police (no, neither Germany nor Russia).
I think I will catch up with the manga pretty soon.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. It is mostly slice-of-lifey, with the plot popping its head once in a while. Still damn good nonetheless.
Yuri chapter that didn't understand that Yuri's charm is being utter garbage. Trying to make him sympathetic likes omits his good comedy and falls flat on the emotional side.
Nah, this was nice. And it brings a bit of nuance to the whole conflict.
We’re still long overdue for a Yor chapter though. =[
Is it just me or is it weird that landladies exist in a communist country?
Who knows. It might be a hybrid system like modern China… Are there landladies in China? >.>
Ostania hasn't been communist for a long time. The school Anya goes to is more than enough evidence of that. It's authoritarian-capitalist, like modern China.
What's precedent ever done for us?Why wouldn't a Communist country have landlines? They're a whole lot easier to listen in on and they're an older, cheaper technology.
They're talking about landladies, not landlines. Although I suppose the same question applies—why is it weird for landladies to exist in a communist country?
Don't normally find private rental in a command economy. Landlordism - as an extra, parasitic layer on top of the free-market distribution of the right to shelter - is perhaps one of the most despised features of capitalism by socialists and communists, and landlords tend to very literally end up first against the wall when the revolution comes.

What's precedent ever done for us?That was fairly grim, honestly. Nearly out of place, even. The guy is a fake news peddler, but he's also doing it to support his family and ends up arrested by the secret police of an authoritarian state for it. With how lighthearted most of the story is, the reminder that this is a Cold War setting is sobering.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.There was another chapter like this one a bit earlier, with the head of Wise meeting one of the warmongering college students and brutally detailing why they wouldn't let another war break out if they had any say in it. That arc was already one of the more real ones but that particular scene was very striking.

And I swear this is the third or fourth series I read with a "sucks at Old Maid because their face gives it away" gag. I don’t know if Jitsu wa did it first, but that could almost be its own trope at this point.
Oh wow my heart just grew three sizes
