Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

"Happy to hear it, Gale. Now I can finally scratch 'completely make amends for Season 50's bowling ball murder' off my to-do list."
He checks his phone to see what Kabal's been up to this whole time and learns that the Black Dragon mercenary had to leave early on account of Kano calling him in for a job. He responds that his paycheck will still arrive in the mail, then starts dancing like James Vega.

Zan Partizanne leaves the base, bidding farewell to Kirby and the DM. Kirby, meanwhile, is getting drowsy after a night of eating and dancing. King Dedede, as Sans changed the song, says "Show-off". Mr. Star, meanwhile, tells 6k1 this.
"Miss, have you ever heard of a new adventure of a young boy that's coming soon? His would be pretty similar to Ness and Lucas' own adventures, it could even be the next generation's Mother if we finally get to know more about them!"

6k1 looks at Ralsei, who's shaking to the rhythm of the music.
"I'm still wondering what his next adventure will be. Will he reunite with Kris and Susie? Who knows...?"

Gale actually began to gain more confidence thanks to Power's lessons and began to dance more freely, only to accidentally step on Mr. Godzilla's tail.

"EXCUSE ME?!" shouted Scipion, spitting out some water as he heard 6k1. Luckily, the music was too loud for others too hear. The Zoroark frowned, taking an angry face.
"First Tabby who drinks Nightmare Fuel, and now Zorua who's about to certainly create another past!me... What kind of joke is this?! Why is everyone keep doing my past mistakes?!"
He crossed his arm and looked at the sky. "Listen up, Sixie. If this idiot is indeed about to do another great Cataclysm, I will rip her throat to shred, nominator or not. That is, unless you have a better alternative."
Scipion was quite surprised to see Dave approaching them. He chuckled when he heard what the Bokoblin was doing with Link.
"Dunno. Honestly even I don't really get that stupid pig. I mean, what is he even doing with that food?" he said, pointing as the Bokoblin watched in confusion the hands that were restraining him.
"I think I understand what's going on." said Firebrand as he flew over the group. "Zarblin actually isn't thinking our little Hero over there is the other one from his universe, but rather another Bokoblin. I've heard that the Hero of the Wild had a mask for approaching the Bokoblins easily, and it seems Zarblin encountered him with that same mask. I understand his language, he just want to give what he thinks to be another Bokoblin a piece of chicken. So I confirm he's harmless." he explained. Scipion facepalmed himself. "This guy truly is an idiot. But to be honest, even if he truly wanted to attack Link, he would fail miserably, magic shield or not. The only downside is that he might follow Link for a while..."
Not so far away, Pharynx looked at Twilight's fall. I really hope I won't fail like her... he thought as Thorax gently told him how to move and to simply follow the song. While trying to dance, he also looked at Gale improving his dance. If this pony is able to dance, then surely a Changeling can do even better! he thought, motivating himself
Manwhile Giegue sighed as he sat down next to Ninten. "Yes, it would really have been nice if George did not... Well, you know. To be honest, I too am not the same anymore since Scipion gave me a second life."
He looked as his hand, and frowned as it started to become red. Knowing very well what that meant, he closed his eyes and tried to calm himself, putting his hand on his head.
"Such an abomination I have become... I truly wish that Giygas would be no more. But even Scipion wasn't able to remove it from me. I cannot have a single day without fearing that it would come back. I remember it like if it was yesterday..."
Giegue shook a bit, biting his lips. "The voices tearing my mind apart... The painful red faces that surrounded me... Being Giygas was like being in a terrifying prison with nothing but pain and madness surrounding me. Even with the Devil's machine, I couldn't really fight it back. And when these humans killed me with all of these emotions and my unstability... I... I...!"
Giegue's eyes widden, loooking terrified for a brief moment as his eyes became fully red briefly. He then chuckled nervously. "Ha... Ha... I'm pathetic, am I wrong? And I was blaming you for everything... I talked with Thorax earlier and... maybe he is right, maybe I am to blame for a lot of things, including the murder of my own species, all the people that I have killed, it's creation. I even heard that Porky Minch, the boy that I have corrupted, managed to cause great chaos after I died. I truly feel like garbage now, even lower than humans. Just because I tried to reject my true feelings and then, because I wanted my selfish revenge..."
He looked at Ninten right into the eyes and asked him nervously as his eyes started to get humid. "Do... you hate me? After everything I have done?"

Scipion ends up spitting water on the floor. Power stops dancing and promptly draws up a Wet Floor sign.
"Even if I have massive beef with them for nominating massive group tributes in general, I'd rather not knife them in the back for that," 6k1 says to the Zoroark.
"Instead, I want to talk them out of this. We'll just have to find their base and sneak into it. But if that doesn't work... we'll have to punish them. And no, timewrecking them isn't an option; no nominator deserves that."
Mr. Ramon, Carlos, and D. A. approach her.
"6k1, we're ready to go home," says the father. "It's getting late, and the kids need to catch up with their homework."
"Really? Did you have fun?"
"We certainly did! Fangs for inviting us!" he says as he shakes her hand.
'"Can't wait to hang out with the Clan again someday!" says Carlos.
D. A. groans. "Of course you had to team up with those punsters!"
"Come on, it's all in good fun!"
The others share a hearty laughter. Power overhears them and walks to them, avoiding the puddle.
"Oh, you're leaving already?" she asks Carlos. "Before we say goodbye, I've something for you."
She gets her sketchpad and draws a crystal ball, then uses her magic to pull it out.
"Just rub this if you want to call me, and if it glows, that's when I'm calling you."
Carlos gives it a test run. Power retrieves hers and sees his image on it.
"Thanks, Pow-Pow! Now we can plan our next pundventures with this!"
They both laugh as they wait for more goodbyes from the others.
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"

Gale promptly slipped on the floor, knocking over the wet floor sign, meanwhile Alastor simply evaporated the water around him, while Meta Knight stayed in the air.
Gale: Ow!

Sans then shows up near Carlos.
"leavin' so soon, buddy? eye hope to see ya again!"
He winks after he says that. Carlos and Power chuckle while D. A. sighs yet again.
Speaking of the latter, Twilight approaches her.
"I wish I could've spent more time with you, but I'm glad you've had fun!"
"Thanks, Twilight! Maybe if we all go on a field trip to your world, we'll visit you first!"
Twilight giggles. "You can even spend the day at the School of Friendship as exchange students!"
6k1 and Power snicker. In the Multiverse, any place can become a field trip!
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"
As he says goodbye to those departing from the party, Ichigo snaps his fingers, as if suddenly remembering something. He takes out his phone, puts on this video, and shows it to Sans.
"Admittedly, I'm not the hugest pro-wrestling fan, but I saw this vid one day and figured you'd prolly appreciate it."

Sans watches the video and groans at Kenny Omega's costume, although he can't help but chuckle, too.
"man, why do a lotta people love dressin' up as me?"
Out of curiosity, his Underground friends watch it, too.
"If you really lasted that long in your fight against Chara, then I bet you'd make a great wrestler," says Frisk.
"nah, i'd rather not fight," says Sans. "i only fought 'em cuz i had no choice."
"Still," says Asgore, "your fans love you because of how tough you were in the battlefield!"
"And your puns are so clever you goat me doing it!" Toriel giggles.
"c'mon asgore, as tough as i look when i'm fightin', the two things i'm actually best at are dodgin' and trickin' the enemy! my strategy's to frustrate 'em until they quit!"
Sans laughs at Toriel's pun, too. Frisk then sees their Walkerville friends leaving.
"Bye Carlos, bye D. A., bye Mr. Ramon. I hope to hear more stories about your field trips next time."
"And once more of my universe is discovered, you're free to visit it as well!" says Ralsei.
6k1's remaining tributes all wave goodbye to them as she leads them outside, where she sends them home via portal. She also calls Mikey about this and reassures him that they'll be cheering for him back home.
Meanwhile, Power asks Ichi, "why don't we move our watch party to the Battle Royale, which is in Season 78? The party's far from over, and there might be a surprise for us at the end!"

Ribbon bids farewell to the DM and others as she leads Kirby back to the Spacepod. Magolor, meanwhile, sees Bebe and introduces her to the DM, explaining what she is.
The Spacepod
Kirby and Ribbon settles in his room in the Pod. The Spacepod has four bedrooms at the top. Kirby then lies on his bed, preparing to snooze...

Meanwhile as the guests leave and the Game is scheduled to start in an hour or so, Orin and Scolippi have to take their leave. Scolippi just exits quietly with his Stand rolling by itself, while Orin waves goodbye at everyone, especially Satori, Koishi, Utsuho and Kagerou before leaving alongside Scolippi too. Once they both leave, Kagerou decides to randomly call her two friends back in Gensokyo, Wakasagihime and Sekibanki as the crowd continues their party.
After this, Eirin decides to administer her drug to V. It's in the form of a small elixir, which she shows to V and order him to drink. After he drinks it, he won't feel anything. This however renders him killable.
Once the drug is administered, the banter continues as Yukari first is concerned for Sans. She even threatens Dark Star with using her powers, and then reveals that she knows about Chara too as she has seen their timelines with her ability. Once Dark Star leaves, Billy decides to introduce something surprising. He unveils an object that is covered in white fabric to show a sleek machine. He then says, "This is the literal Random Number Generator machine. This machine can be uploaded with scenarios you want to simulate randomly. Once a scenario is randomly chosen, it will simulate it. For this party, I decide to start with known events from the Hunger Games."
Billy then demonstrates the machine by rolling it. After a second, the scenario is a tribute goes hunting, so Billy suddenly finds himself with a spear, and some animals wandering in the party. Billy then hunts a deer carefully, successfully hitting it.
Meanwhile, Yukari then takes a view to a world where V is still timewrecked, and despite of her nature, she is horrified to see how a regular human is forced like that.
She then decides to say it, "So I decided to see what happens to V in an alternate timeline where he isn't freed from his infinite death loop, and this isn't good." Yukari then expands her gap, showing that beyond the dark void with eyes, there is a gate to said timeline.

"I was researching about these Magical Girls during your Voidlands trip, Magolor. She looks... interesting, from a scientist's standpoint, I mean."
Billy then reveals the RNG Machine to everyone. 6k1 raises her hand.
"I'd like to volunteer as the first test subject!"
She goes in front and pulls the lever.
"Oh dear, this scenario requires another guest! Who's gonna be my lucky assistant?"
She lets Billy pull another lever to determine that.
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"

Billy and his guests react with horror to the revealed world of V's timewrecking. After being dazed for some time, Billy hears 6k1's request for him. Immediately, Billy does another roll for the guest, which lands in Twilight.

Psyche admires the RNG Machine with interest. It's a pretty good idea, all things considered...
Her face falls when Yukari opens the gap and reveals the alternate universe to everyone. Her heart sinks. BTS are the most miserable she's ever seen them.
"They look like they're in despair..." she murmurs to herself. "Especially poor V, oh my god. He seriously looks dead inside..."
Felix, Maki and Kaito approach her and peer curiously into the portal. Colour drains from Felix's face. "Bloody hell, I don't need to be reminded of that again. Me and the rest of Stray Kids watched the broadcast of that incident... Minho wouldn't stop crying..." He looks completely serious - a rare sight for him.
"Maybe if he bowed down to the Great Ninja Maki, he wouldn't have died a million times over!" Maki exclaims.
Felix shoots her a death glare.
"It's impressive that someone was able to do that to him," says Kaito. "I could use a spell to refill my jellybean bag every time it goes empty." He pauses for a moment. "Did he eat so many jellybeans that he died?"
"I don't think so," Psyche replies.
"Aww, that would've been the perfect way for me to go!"
"Falling off a human pyramid was a fine enough death," says Maki.
Kaito glares at her. "At least I wasn't stupid enough to try walkin' on water!"
Psyche sighs as the duo bicker. A tear slides down her face as she steals another glance at the alternate timeline.
For what it's worth, Taehyung... you came out alright in this timeline. At least everything worked out for you and your bandmates in the end.
Ichigo watches as Billy unveils the RNG Machine and demonstrates its capabilities, both hands clasping the head of his cane.

"Oh really?" says Twilight. "I'm honored!"
She goes in front of the crowd, the rest applauding her.
The scenario then reveals itself. 6k1's doing her usual Database work... but she forgot to save. A blackout happens, and all her data was lost!
"You had one job, 6k1!" yells Twilight. "One job!"
Power and the rest of 6k1's tributes all cringe at that. Toriel also feels sorry for her.
The scenario ends. Everyone laughs it off as 6k1 and Twilight bow and thank them.
"So..." says 6k1. "Anyone else wanna try?"

In the alternate timeline, Mikey is crying on his podium, his face buried in his hands. He still remembers what he did in his last season: he wasn't able to control his powers, and his shadow dragon broke free and ate Dad and all of BTS, among the other casualties. Not only that, he was beaten up by the others as punishment, and he tried to find solace by befriending Tuxedo Meta Knight... but they had a falling out due to a misunderstanding.
Back at the party, Carlos looks at 6k1, who's still having fun on the dance floor.
"Why don't you join her there?" asks Dad. "Just for some fun before we go home?"
"Well, the Dark Star did say that the dark soul inside Frisk's still faint, so we shouldn't be worrying about that right now..."
Sans's eyesockets turn back to normal, and he sees his punny blue friend going to the dance area. Once the song's over, he goes to the DJ and pops in the Smash remix of his theme song
, then gets down and breakdances.
"Hey! I know that song!" Carlos cries out to Dad and D. A. "We played another remix of that back in Season 44!"
He beckons them over and they all dance right next to Sans. One by one, the Underground residents join them too, having heard bits and pieces of their theme songs as well. Even Ralsei joins in on the fun.
