She told Palpatine the name Darth Sidious was cringe.
She said she was the Senate.
Palpatine: Kill her!
@ Red Hunter: So Palpatine is an incel? I thought they were trying to give him sympathy with that
Less than a week until the ongoing misery that is Obi-Wan Kenobi’s life continues!
As always, he suffers for our entertainment.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Apparently, the series director compared it to Joker and Logan as a character driven piece.
Well at least we'll know where Luke Skywalker got his Joker skills.
Mark Hamill has always fought against men in dark armor using fear and hatred to their advantage.
As long as Kenobi focuses on Kenobi and not a hundred side characters we don't care about, then I think it'll do well.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. How is it that I didn't realize the similarities between Vader and Batman until you just pointed it out?
The Joker movie even implies Bruce and the Joker are half-brothers.
Guess it's the differences in morality.
But yeah, Bats and Vader do have similar aesthetics and tactics. Just that Bats is a hero, and Vader was.
Motivated by vengeance, loss, self-loathing, and have fought against their own child, (Adopted or otherwise.) ETC.
Luke also had one bad day, but he didn't break.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I think that it's also where Obi-Wan realizes that Anakin is still alive, considering he thought he died on Mustafar.
Batman is a sort of anti-hero, not because of any moral failings per se, but because his tactics are unconventional for a hero. Namely, he uses fear and intimidation.
Essentially, Darth Vader is a dreaded "Dark Knight"/"Boogeyman"-type figure played mostly straight. He's a monolithic, imposing figure. He serves as an antagonist, that a hero must be particularly brave and powerful to fight against.
The idea of Batman is essentially to be a sort of anti-boogeyman. He's a guy who took a look at figures like Darth Vader and said "Wait, how come only the bad guys get to be scary?"
The Joker isn't an evil counterpart to someone like Luke Skywalker though. An evil counterpart to Luke Skywalker would be a villain who's idealistic, likely assured of their moral rightness, and who inspires others to join in their cause likely by appealing to its (misguided) morality. A sort of reverse-paragon.
Joker's more akin to Darth Sidious, actually.

Honestly, Sidious seems closer to being a more evil version of the Penguin to me.
They may feign friendliness to try to get good publicity.
He's the Penguin when he's acting as Senator and later Chancellor.
He's the Joker when he's Darth Sidious and Emperor.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI read that as “Sidious is a more evil version of Palpatine” and got confused for a second.
Depends on which Penguin, because some of them can be pretty violent and brutal thugs dressed up all fancy.
Gotham and Arkham spring to mind.
That said, if we're still on the Batman and Star Wars discussion, would Bruce make a good Jedi? Sure he's got difficulties with handling his rage at least in his early days, and is motivated by revenge, but still tempers himself with compassion and refuses to cross the line.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. He'd be a terrible Jedi. He's got way too much emotional pain and he's never come to terms with it in a really healthy manner.
He'd have to go through a lot of Character Development first.
Essentially, he'd have to give up being Batman to be a Jedi.
It's a bit similar to why despite his willpower he's not able to be a Green Lantern. When he put on the Green Lantern Ring all he could conjure up were images of bats and his dead parents. He's just too hung up on his personal loss.

Disgusted, but not surprisedMost super heroes would be horrible jedi, anyway.
Superman and Captain America are heroes known for their moral rectitude, and even they would end up resigning from the order.
It probably helps that most Jedi are raised as Jedi. Anakin, and these superheroes, show why taking in adults can be dangerous.
The superheroes wouldn't go Dark Side like Anakin did of course, they'd just quit.
Disgusted, but not surprisedHonestly Superman would be even worse if he was raised as a Jedi.
The reason Clark is so good is because he was raised by two loving parents who showed them what a family was like.
Clark being raised by a bunch of monks would make him not have the same moral rectitude.
”Wouldn’t have the same moral rectitude”? They’re not just monks, or at least, not meant to be the type that just cloister themselves.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Superman acts quite a bit like a Jedi, so he'd be fine if he was raised as one. The sort of values he has is basically what Jedi training is meant to foster.
Batman would be a bad choice for a Jedi due to his methods as mentioned before. The Jedi do not generally want to be feared in the same way that Batman does. The Jedi aren't anti-heroes like Batman is. And that's before we get into his emotional baggage.
