ITT: We're Animals in a Post-Apocalyptic Town

"Depends on how long ya want it for," says Gunther. "I charge 5 gold per hour, or 15 for the whole day. And if you need it longer than that, we can negotiate."

(Wanda looks at the others.) How long do you guys think this little trip is going to take?

Uh..maybe not more than a few daysss at mossst?

"Probably so!" Rena agrees with Krista. "The boat ride shouldn't take more than an hour. Depending on how long it takes us to find the robin, we could be back tonight, or... not until much later."

"Maybe we could pay 15 now," says Peter. "I imagine that we'll take at least most of today. If we don't come back today, we could pay an additional 15 for tomorrow, and for each day after... but hopefully it won't take that long... What do you think, Mr. Gunther? I promise we and the boat will all make it back in one piece."

"Well, I dunno... I usually only charge up front... but on the other hand, I haven't had any business in so long..."

"Ah, well, it's just that I wasn't sure how much to pay up front because I don't know how long we'll take..." says Peter. "But if it's better, we can pay as much as you want right now."

Krista looks about herself to grab her satchel and preparing to get as much as needed to pay.

"Tell ya what. You all are not just the only customers I've had in a while, but also the nicest I've had probably since the last time Anton was here. So this time, I think I'll let you pay for one day now, and pay the rest later if you need to. How's that sound?"

Sounds good to me. (Wanda says, nodding.)

"That sounds great! Thank you, sir!" says Peter. He then turns to the group. "Hmm... since there are five of us, what do you think of each of us chipping in with 3 gold?"

"Sounds good!" says Jack.

Yeah, no problem. (Wanda says, going ahead and taking three gold pieces out of her hat.)

Jack pulls out three gold too.

"Well, this is it, then!" says Peter, once everyone has paid the 15 gold. "All aboard the Sapphire!"

Krista slithers aboard the Sapphire and quickly settles in.

(Wanda climbs aboard the boat and has a seat.)

Man, it's been a while since I've been in a boat... (Wanda remarks. She bounces in her seat a little.) Much comfier than the last boat I was in.

What happened the lassst time you were in a boat?

"So, uh, Rena, which way is Crystal Shores?" asks Peter.

"Oh, it'll be no trouble finding it! See that island over there? That's it!" Rena says, pointing to an island in the distance. Although it's somewhat far away, it's possible to make out that it's covered in lush and dense vegetation.

"Oh, neat! It doesn't like it'll be much trouble to get there," says Peter. "Actually, this is my first time on a sailboat. To get it moving, first you have to hoist the anchors, then adjust the sails, right?"

"That's right!" says Gunther, accepting the gold. "Need any more help, or are you ready to go?"

"Nah, we're good! Thanks for all your help, Mr. Gunther, and see you soon, hopefully," says Peter. He boards the Sapphire and goes over to hoist the anchor.

"Happy sailing!" says Gunther, waving goodbye.

"Thanks, Gunther!" says Jack, waving back.

Well...uh, things happened, I guess. (Wanda says to Krista, shrugging and adjusting her glasses. It seems that she doesn't care to divulge into what happened last time she was on a boat right now.)

(She also waves farewell to Guther as they get ready to sail off.)

Krista finds this curious but doesn't delve any further, choosing instead to wait for the boat to set off.

With the anchor pulled and the sails in place, Peter goes over to take the steering wheel.

"Here we go!" he says.

"Oh, this is exciting!" says Rena. "We might even find something else on the island besides the robin. Just imagine the headlines we could make!"

What else is on this island? (Wanda asks no one in particular.)
