ITT: We're Animals in a Post-Apocalyptic Town

(The twins pick up the pink and purple orb)

"Hmm, from coldest to warmest, starting from the furthest point... that must mean the slot furthest from where we came in."

Peter walks over to furthest slot, which has the only orb that is still in place, the white one, and he takes it out.

"Alright, we start with blue. That means your orb goes here, Wanda," he says. He then points to the next three slots in clockwise order. "Then, Krista's goes there, Jack's goes there, and Cameron's goes there."

"What about ours?"

Cameron would put the orb he was holding in the correct place.

Right... (Wanda puts the orb she has into place.)

There aren't any pink or purple orbs, Alivia; please see the picture I linked here. Sorry, but we each took one already.

Krista pushes her orb into the correct place, guided by help from Peter

"I hope this works!" Jack puts his orb down where Peter instructs him.

With the blue, green, yellow, and orange orbs in place, Peter moves to the next spot and places the red orb in it. He then looks at the white orb he is still holding.

"Ah, right!" He says. "There's a spot in the middle of the others. That one must be for the white orb."

Peter places the final orb in the middle of the room. The six orbs glow for a moment, and a loud noise is heard as the door to the next chamber slowly opens.

All right! It worked! (Wanda says.)

Jack grins. "Well done, everyone!"

"Why didn't we get one?"

"Calm down, Rachel, we'll just have to do something else, by the way, well done!"

Well...wonder what'sss in thisss next room...

"You did great, everyone," says Peter.

"Ah... there's something important in there, I can feel it," says Diggs when the door to the next chamber opens. A faint glow can be seen coming from inside.

Professor Diggs goes into the next room, and the group follows. They are now in a fairly long chamber. The glow seems to be coming from a pedestal at the far end of the room.

"Huh... it looks like there's something over there," says Peter.

Krista follows along.

Now what?

Jack is excited when he sees the glow, but he looks around suspiciously. "Maybe we should be careful. There might be deathtraps or something in this room."

(After hearing this, Wanda eyes immediately drops down to the ground in front of herself as she scans the floor.) How easy would they be to spot?

I think if we sssee sssomething like a ssstake in the wall or an indent in the floor it would be a sssign?

"Don't worry, I'll lead the way," says Peter. He walks toward the pedestal at the back of the room.

Cameron would, again, silently follow the group.

Jack is relieved to see nothing happen. "Sorry if I got you all worried..." Jack follows along.

(Wanda follows on as well, still shifting her eyes around in case something springs out at them.)

Krista keeps on alert.

"Oh, no, it's okay, Jack," says Peter. "You're right that we should be careful..."

Upon reaching the back of the room, the group sees that the glow is coming from an object on top of the pedestal. Despite the brightness, they should be able to see that it is a rather large crystal, almost two feet in diameter. The light inside almost appears to be moving as if it's alive.

"Whoa..." says Peter. "I've never seen anything like this... do you know what it is, Professor?"

However, Professor Diggs is so entranced by the crystal that he appears not to have heard Peter's question.

"Incredible.." he says, moving to examine it more closely.
