The artwork of this game looks great. Hope that more lesser-known Capcom IPs get represented here at some point.

The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.

The art's great, the flavor text is great, and I appreciate the effort to encompass as much of each franchise as possible (i.e. Street Fighter's content includes fighters not seen since Third Strike and Monster Hunter has monsters not seen since 3 Ultimate).

That said, I'm not sure this has quiiiiite clicked with me yet. The real-time setup seems cool on paper but I've had no shortage of fights so far where I was stuck with action cards and no actual characters to attack/defend with, which combined with the real-time resources meant by the time I was granted a character they were quickly trampled underneath the opponent's setup. Most card games give you outs (like mulligans) so you can at least start with something you can try to work with, but I'm not sure how they'd work that into this due to the real-time hook.

EDIT: Looking through the card list it looks like every Hero also has an "upgraded" card of themselves, though weirdly only Rathalos uses an actual thing from canon (Dreadking Rathalos) instead of just getting a fancy title (Demon Hunter Dante, Fate-Defying Ryu).

I find it funny that Sega Heroes has gone the route of giving us incredibly obscure franchises and characters so far (Lassic from Phantasy star! The hot dog vendor from Shenmue!) while Capcom goes and blows its load with all the poster boys and fanart favorites right with the core set. [lol]

Grabbed the game. I often have no idea what I'm doing with cards because I haven't found a way to read their text mid-game yet. (EDIT: Just double tap.) The artstyle and flavor text takes itself so seriously I can't help but laugh.

Alright I've been playing this game pretty solidly for the last... While... And can say it's very good and addicting.

I'm up to C3 but have kind of hit a brick wall because of all the Nerg decks that bum-rush me with the spike shot special. I'm running a Chun Li deck that stalls and so they're kind of my kryptonite with that late-game board wipe. Plus there's the occasional tricky Morrigan that snipes my Crescent Grizzlies...

I'm really glad I pulled the legendary "Soul Offering" card it kicks ass.

This game is already out!

It's not a gacha game is it?

It is. Like, some people will argue it's not because it's a card game where you open packs and that has a Grandfather Clause ruled into it but it's the same thing.

That said, it's very generous right now. You'll get dozens of packs for free just for logging in. My guess expansions will require more investment.

So it is a gacha game? Shit, I really wanted to play the game too.

Is the artist for this game the same one from Dragon's Crown. It's remarkably similar.

Anyone had any luck with Rathalos decks yet? I can't figure out how to make him work since his beatsticks are kinda easy to nuke or block, and in general "crap out big beaters with Flight and shred the opponent's health directly" isn't a playstyle I'm used to in card games.

I was a wrecking ball in the early tiers with Rathalos before I switched to Chun Li.

I stacked as much +attack cards as I could (Ditch Fire Dragon's Roar for True Faith ASAP) and grabbed flying units mostly. Barioth is a must. Used the +2 attack to all Art myself but it's useless if you can't get momentum going. The Precison card helps a bit with that, being both removal and Art charge.

While some decks, Green decks especially, have little defense against fliers I started having a hard time as soon as I went up against Black decks with their removal. You end up investing like three or four cards on one unit and Wesker just pops it nonchalantly.

Anyone have any ideas on hybrid deck types?

I made a Black/Green Chun Li deck. The idea is to stall with Kikosho, Jaggi spam and such long enough for the black revenge cards to cycle in. I've had middling success with it, the Arkham unit that places a unit in your EX pocket is a must.

Well, if you can't beat'em join'em. Just cracked B rank with a braindead Black/Green Nergigante deck.

Hmm thinking about trying this game out. I never played one of these before haha.

Though I did dabble with yugioh back in middle school but aside from that...

Do eet. It's stupid addicting and currently very F 2 P friendly. I still expect that to be less true the longer the game is out, so get your head start.

I doubt we'll be seeing new heroes anytime soon given they all have 3 arts. But I do wonder what other Capcom franchises will show up next.

Almost a given, seems like they're a favorite retro reference for capcom considering tessa shows up a lot.

I want dragon's dogma to get some love. And Breath of Fire.

I'm trying to download it but it's taking forever.

Red Earth has some stellar damn designs. I prefer Mai Ling to Tessa though, I think she might be Chun Li's great great granddaughter or something.

I wonder who the most obscure character represented is right now?

OMG am I just missing something or is dante not good?

I lost not just once but twice in his story thing. Against X and Li. But Morrigan's story gave me no trouble.

I'm not sure I understand how deck editing works though. You can't mix symbols or something?

There are four colors, red (Attack! Attack!) green (Swarm! Defense! Healing!) purple (Resonate! Debuff! Control!) and black (My stuff dies quick but yours dies QUICKER!) and every card and hero is under one of them.

If your deck is "Pure", ie you have a green colored hero and nothing but green cards, then your maximum MP for playing cards is 10. If you have even one card that's a different color than your hero then it's a two-color deck and your max MP is halved down to 5. Make sure not to have any cards of a 6 cost or higher if you go two-color! You can't play them and they become dead weight!

You can have a three-color deck but I haven't seen any actually used because it shunts you max MP down to 3.

Dante is, I think, the lowest-tier hero. He still gets used a lot thanks to purple being pretty damn powerful but almost anything he can do Morrigan can do better. Ebony and Ivory can be a pretty destructive hero art if you get your engine going though.

Nergigante and Spike Launch are considered OP and for good reason. Expect it to be nerfed eventually.
