Red links that aren't part of the Permanent Red Link Club

is it okay to have these in a trope page?

on the Girls' Frontline character pages, there seems to be something of a back and forth going on for certain crossover characters. namely, from Guns Girl Honkai Gakuen (which, as you can see, doesn't exist yet).

someone sent me a private message telling me i had linked Honkai Impact 3rd, which was apparently the wrong game (but otherwise had the correct characters because it's a prequel). it was an honest mistake as that particular page was the closest match. i don't know anything about the series, so i took the PM on the nose, changed it to the correct-but-red-linked page, and left it at that.

fast forward a few days and it seems like a completely different user made the same mistake i did, and i'm wondering if i should leave it as such or revert them back to a red link and hope it one day becomes a blue link through another more knowledgeable troper's efforts.

Provided that they are pointing to the would-be correct page, Red Links are fine.

Or what about not potholing it at all?

If you use the work's name in examples, leave the redlinks. If it's a pothole, doesn't need to be there

the way it is now is the character's name is a link to their home IP. wasn't aware that's frowned upon here so i'll change that while i'm at it.

Like this:

• Guest Fighter: From Guns Girl Z.

It's either Guns Girl Z or Houkai Gakuen, not both, as they're different titles for different localizations.
