I got it today! The controller feels really nice in my hands compared to the 3 PS4 controllers I have.
I honestly am unsure how much I want a PS5, but I even if I do want, I don’t think I have enough space for one right now, until likely when I get my own place.
Edit: Congrats, by the way!

You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I’m really hoping to get one for my Birthday next month but since I have the cash now and it’s nearly impossible to find I’m just gonna do it now. I’m really praying that I can find it in stock and get it before the bots buy out an entire stock instantly. Scalping should be illegal.
Why waste time when you can see the last sunset last? So, with Sony ending the online store for PSP, PS3, and Vita; would I still be able to play my PS1 discs on the PS3?
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! That's a hardware feature, so yes, you'll still be able to.
Ah.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Oh thank god
Yeah, was really worried about that until I found out it was fake.
Still might happen, and I’m glad it got people thinking about preservation, but it’s not a thing right now.

Okay, so on a video talking about the supposed closure, someone tried to claim that you can no longer play games that you already downloaded on your Wii. I promptly corrected them as I have proven that you can still play games that are stored to an SD Card and maybe the internal memory.
The amount of people not bothering to do the research, myself included, is saddening.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!An official word from Sony themselves that they're shutting down the Playstation stores on PS3 and Vita, and the remaining purchase abilities on the PSP.
What features can I use after the closure of PlayStation™Store and purchase functionality on PS3, PS Vita and PSP devices?
Features you will still be able to access:
- You will still be able to re-download and play previously purchased game titles. You will still be able to access previously purchased video/media content.
- You will still be able to redeem game and PlayStation®Plus vouchers.
- You will still be able to re-download and play claimed game titles through PlayStation®Plus as long as you remain a member of the service.
Features you will lose access to:
- You will no longer be able to purchase PS3, PS Vita and PSP digital content, including games and video content.
- You will no longer be able to make in-game purchases through games on PS3, PS Vita and PSP.
- You will no longer be able to redeem PSN wallet fund vouchers (e.g. gift cards) on PS3, PS Vita or PSP devices once PlayStation™Store and purchase functionality for these devices close. Your PSN wallet funds will remain in your PSN account, but you will only be able to use your wallet funds to purchase PS4 and PS5 products on PlayStation™Store on the web, PlayStation®App or on PS4 and PS5 consoles.
Further details can be found in the aforementioned link.

Well, at least they let you keep access to stuff you already bought, as well as DLC.
Optimism is a duty.So the earlier report wasn't fake after all... would have been nice if it was.
Okay, so we have official word on it.
Honestly I was hoping that the reports were fake, but I also wish that people weren't going crazy before anything official was said by Sony.
At least I won't have to worry about losing my ability to play PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale on my older PS3.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Oh. Well, that sucks.
I was considering buying a PlayStation TV to play some Vita and PSP games. Guess there's no point now.
Just another reason why physical media will always be superior.
Good to know that they’ll let you re-download things you have already. I was worried about that. What about updates, though? If you get a new game on disc, can you still get patches?
Still sucks, though. I’m glad this had people talking about preservation, because it’s a serious issue.

My guess is that patches will still download. They’re letting you redownload things you already own, so what they’re closing is essentially the storefront, and patches don’t come through the storefront.
They should probably confirm either way, but that would be my best guess.
As long as it doesn't get scratched, bent, stepped on...
SoundCloudWhy are your games ever in a position to be stepped on, and who is bending them?
Scratches can happen pretty easily by accident, and read errors are a thing, but anything else that might happen to a physical disc is usually because poor care is taken of it.
It's less often now than when I was young, but have you ever lived with young children?
The most recent occurrence in particular was even for no apparent reason whatsoever. The World Ends with You, the Final Remix remake for Switch, so the form factor would be even more resistant to physical damage than a disc. The game just crashed after a post-game Bonus Boss, and would not even be recognized as inserted from then on.
SoundCloudMan, Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines needs a port bad, cause they never released physical copies outside Japan (As far as I know.). Really hope the other rumor (Backwards Compatibility for PS 5) ends up being true, cause that would lessen the blow quite a bit.
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness.I did acknowledge read errors.
I haven’t lived with small children since I was one, but do you know how many CDs my brother and I destroyed when we were very little? Zero. Children are perfectly capable of being careful with their belongings.
I've never stepped on or bent a game, even when I was a little kid. No game I owned as a little kid was ever in that position as I always put my GameCube games in their cases
But as Bad Wolf said, scratches and read errors are pretty common.

You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! Some children can, but that does not negate all the ones that aren't. Especially when it's not their own property.
That said, it's not like a game being physical prevents a publisher from blocking all play from a game. I remember a recent incident with Activision banning Call of Duty players, seemingly randomly, even from the single-player offline modes.
There's definitely a key point there. My parents were pro-"Replace the original cases with bulk binders of flimsy plastic slots." You can imagine how protective (or not) those were."
