Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (spoilers obviously)

Makes me wonder what kind of moves he'd pull if he were able in TROS. If his body was decaying he could detach his hands and fight without getting close to an opponent.

Or he'd pull a Kreia and just manipulate lightsabers with the Force.

He really should have put up a better fight.

Like he could apparently generate enough lightening to emp a whole ton of ships which presumably requires a lot of Force.

What they should do is have Sidious raise an army of stop-motion undead Sith warriors. That would be a terror to see old Sheev do.

So kinda like the Horned King?

It's at least consistent. Even in the Legends canon, Sheev's favorite power is Force Lightning.

It may be his favorite, but he has used force choke.

And force push to nearly kill Kylo Ren.

So basically, Palpatine is that one fighting game player who loves spamming the same broken move over and over again.

He's an SNK Boss with a deliberately overpowered ability that he can spam.

The reason I suggest undead Sith warriors is to give Sheev a means to show his lightsaber skills without actually needing to use the lightsaber himself. Think puppets on strings.

If he was going to puppeteer corpses, it'd be even creepier if he somehow got a hold of Han's corpse and used it to mess with Rey and Ben.

I've read that Palpatine was actually never disfigured by his own Force Lightning, but rather that his facade dropped, as he made himself look healthy using Sith Alchemy. Is that true?

Maybe in the Legends continuity which introduced a lot of different Force techniques.

But in the new canon? It's the Force Lightning that did it.

According to Ian McDiarmid, Lucas told him to see Chancellor Palpatine's eyes as contact lenses and the make up he wears as Darth Sidious/The Emperor as his real face. The implication, whether it was due to Force Lighting disfigurement or alchemy wearing off, is that the hideous, reptilian face is Palpatine's real face. There's a reason why Darth Sidious has been slowly replacing the name Emperor Palpatine's in the newer fandom.

I figured that was just to help him get even more into character, imagining that the hideous looking lich-like figure is the real Palpatine.

You could say that getting a load of force lightning in his own face just made him look like he always was on the inside.

Evil Makes You Ugly. Happens to pretty much every Sith, both in Legends and in new canon.

The Force doesn't appreciate people messing with it.

The Dark Side is a cancer.

In Dark Empire, Sidious is practically a god, only rivaled by the Sith Emperor.

And it is noteworthy that in the canon Rey needed help from a lot of ghosts, and still was a mutual kill.

Clearly, the Skywalker saga would have ended with the third movie, if only Mace Windu or Yoda had brought a second lightsaber.

His one weakness.

Well yeah, as funny as it sounds, that might actually be not that far from the truth.

While his knowledge of the Force is pretty much unrivaled, in terms of Lightsaber combat Windu was definitely the better out of the two.

As for Evil Makes You Ugly, Dooku was strangely the only one to avert this. Didn't even have the yellow eyes. But then again he was a pretty unconventianol Sith in a few ways.

Thats probably because of the actor playing him,he was a big name star
