OK, here's where this thread is standing, with the unlocking:
Given the widespread backlash and complaining about certain aspects of the work (i.e. Dexit), we wanted to communicate very clearly what we are not willing to put up with: prolonged, circular complaining (or wonking).
Of course, with a controversial subject that has a large impact on the gameplay, Dexit is in one of those areas where there it may be on-topic to discuss it, but the nature of that discussion can wildly vary. As has been said elsewhere, we ix-nayed discussion of Dexit entirely because it never seemed to happen without devolving into that kind of complaining.
However, we're willing to unlock the thread after this 3-day cooldown period because the Pokemon General thread has been stable enough. And -
Can I discuss Dexit?
Yes. But if there is prolonged wonking on it, the thread just becomes an echo chamber of complaints and we do not like that. No one likes that. The same rules as ever apply. Be a constructive, healthy space. Have conversations about what you like, and what you don't like, but the thread should not get locked into a series of bitter complaints.
If you have questions or concerns about mod implementation or action, we have a thread for that here.
Alright? Thank you all for waiting this out. I hope we're all good now.

Uh, guys? A thought occurs.
Maybe we still haven't seen anything about starter evolutions because Game Freak learned that starters tend to be picked based on their finals, and are playing coy about all this because they don't want the audience making that particular judgment?
If what I'm thinking is correct, then they won't show anything about the starters' evolutionary chain until either the day of release or a short time afterward, at which point everyone who's day-oneing this game will have already taken the plunge. I could be wrong, but still...
We didn't have the finals for XY either, and the middles were unveiled just a month before release.
It just means I'll get the information from serebii instead of their material. It's annoying.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireAll that achieves is making people receive that information half a day later. One whole day at the most. I don't see why they'd bother.
Like Celebi, but with an r instead of an l? That's how I pronunce it.
I say it sir-re-bee.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢I think the same as Celebi, but replace "c" with "s".
I will become a great writer one day! Hopefully...I also pronounce it like Celebi with an r.
It's been 3000 years…Why would that matter any? It's still using the "s" sound either way.
It's literally just the direct romanization of Celebi's kana spelling (セレビィ). It would be pronounced seh-reh-bee. Celebi but with an r or r/l sound instead of an l.
Intermediate sound between an r and an l; closer to an r, yet the tongue touches the palate further back than usual for soft r's.
Funny how, despite a heavy Portuguese influence, Japanese didn't pick up the exaggerated l sound said language uses.
seh-reh-bee is how I do it myself.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome Rob@Ultimatum you pronounce it according to its katakana (se-re-bii)
That's what they want you to feel

Maybe because I'm 26 years old, but this lack of information feels refreshing. It means I can actually be surprised for once.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I think that's a you thing. I'm 25, and getting a bit annoyed at how vaguely he answers all these questions.
"I think that's what you're seeing here"... make a statement already, geez.
At the very least, I hope these individual videos on the starters are building up to a reveal of their middle evolutions.
I do like the look at the design process for the starters, though.

Well maybe it's just me then. I'm content to just wait though, game is out in a month. Its not like we have long to wait.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I like that they’re not oversharing this time. But the limited promotion means that I do occasionally forget these are still coming out this holiday season.
I might have to make a choice between Pokémon and Jedi: Fallen Order...
Yeah, I'm also not a fan of how vague they're being, too, but I guess this means we'll just know more things at launch.
Goddammit, Schezo...We do still know that it was said Sonia would have her research on Galarian Ponyta this week and it will have to be either Thursday or Friday, and Thursday is the first day after Game Informer's starter videos are done.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."
They really dont want to give anything away this time around. My starter choice is never final until I know what itll turn into, so this whole spiel has just left me hanging.
