Random generation got me Miki. Chose the Blinding Bangs hairstyle because it was hilarious.
M!Akira looks terrible with default hairstyle and dark skin. Wish he could keep the short hair as an NPC.

I know. But I can change the player character off the default hairstyle. I cannot do so for Akira. Which, for the record, I didn't realize was a gender neutral name. The more you know!
Anyways, Platinum has done it again. Managing your legion is a ton of fun and pulling off crazy cooperative combos is incredibly satisfying.
And HOLY SHIT is the monster design on point. Distinctive and baroque at the same time. Some of the best I've ever seen. You'll never mistake one type of chimaera from another yet they are all heavily detailed... so cool.

The guy who designed the monsters and characters is the mangaka behind Zetman and the character designer for Tiger & Bunny.
Of course it would be great.

Definitely want to get this game, but I'm not ready just yet. I think I'll get it when I'm tired of playing Fire Emblem: Three Houses, since I don't expect to do all four routes back-to-back.

Good to know, knew it was a manga artist but didn't know which one. And yeah, absolutely stellar choice there. The armor and vehicles are also all really cool.
I'm still in the middle of 3H too and I have daemon x machina on the horizon. Wish my work hours weren't so overwhelming.

Allows them to keep making unique shit now.

I've been playing this since yesterday. It's quite good. The side missions are actually pretty varied.

Also when Activision made them make Licensed Games. The Legend of Korra game and Transformers Devastation were Decent, but their TMNT game was pretty much the thing that made Platium split from them.
Microsoft Canceling Scalebound, a game that would have had Platinum Games's Biggest bosses ever, didn't help matters.

So I understand the main character (and all law enforcement) have batons that transform into guns.
I'm been trying to come up with such a weapon (or a gun that transforms into a sword) for some time, but haven't had much luck, so to see the concept being used elsewhere is pretty cool to me.

The PS 3/ Xbox 360 generation is known for increasingly underperforming Japanese games.
Its been in the past few years, probably from FFXV onwards, that Japanese games have actually been doing well in terms of sales and reception on a consistent monthly basis.
Astral Chain continues the trend.

30fps for a platinum game is a bummer but if bayo could be enjoyed with its bad variable framerates on consoles, then this will probably still be fun. flat 30 > a variable framerate that goes from 30 to 45 or smthn
