Not Tropeworthy: Counterpart Comparison

I posted a note on the old discussion page, per TV Tropes Customs (ninth item listed under "Editing the wiki proper").

Edit: I'm aware that that page refers to making redirects without permission and permission was given in this case, but Septimus said the notice is required in the thread for Pre-Asskicking Mutter (when it was merged with Pre-Asskicking One-Liner) and the thread for One of Us.

So, thinking of moving Main.Counterpart Comparison to JustForFun.Counterpart Comparison...

So that the redirect matches the namespace of the target?

I think that's an appropriate change.

I think we're keeping the Main redirect for the sake of inbounds.

I heard of this and I'm sorry if all this has been settled but, I think I'll break the mold and say I feel like there should be differences between Suspiciously simmular substitute or Counterpart comparison. And I feel it should be Differant from Just for fun and YMMV

For example with Steven Universe it's a common comparison to compare to Dragon ball Z, or comparing White Diamond to Glados. But say, I want to compare White Diamond to Chara from undertale. No one is saying it but me.

One is the audience and the other is just for fun. I honestly think a cleanup is the best option.

Would the inbounds be caught by a Just for Fun redirect?

The auto-disambiguater would send people to the Just for Fun variant...

Re: inbounds. Inbounds are third-party links to a TVT page. We used to keep a lot of pages due to their inbound count; however, now we have auto-disambig, so as long as there is a page in some namespace, the cut can be processed (for example, Main.Buffy The Vampire Slayer was at one point kept due to the large number of inbounds, but it was cut as soon as auto-disambig was rolled out because Series.Buffy The Vampire Slayer is now linked if someone follows one of the inbounds.)

In this case, since Main.Counterpart Comparison is being replaced/subsumed into JustForFun.Surprisingly Similar Characters, Main.Counterpart Comparison can be cut if it is replaced with JustForFun.Counterpart Comparison as a redirect to assist those following one of the 7k+ inbounds.

I thought that was the case, but I'm glad to see confirmation from a moderator.

Then I'll cutlist Main.Counterpart Comparison.
