The current is an over-the-top parody of a Dalek. The suggestions are good, but I'm inclined to go with the current.

I'd argue it falls into JAFAAC territory, since the Dalek's status as an alien isn't readily apparent unless you're familiar with Doctor Who.
I'll admit my first thought on seeing the current image was that somebody had misplaced an image intended for Stupid Jetpack Hitler, since the Dalek looks exactly like the sort of prototype weapons the Nazis were cooking up in real life:
