Is the Nimona movie still going through?
Yes, but they're only the distributor so it's relatively safer.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonDistributor contracts are different from producer contracts. Annapurna theoretically could cancel Nimona outright, but they have no reason to do so, the movie is super within their wheelhouse and they'd easily find another distributor, even if it was like, Shout Factory or something like that.
Note that Netflix hasn't cancelled or touched anything they don't have sole rights to.
Most distributor contracts are along the lines of like...if the distributor cancels the production before release, they cover the entire cost of it and forfeit any funds they've already given. So for stuff like Nimona and Hilda and anime where everything's already set up and they don't own it, cancelling it will just result in a giant immediate price tag plus heavily damaging their connections in the industry.

Not Three Laws compliant.I thought Netflix was the distributor and Warner Bros owned Wings of Fire, since their animation studio was working on it. Unless it was contracted out to Warner Bros Animation.
@Holo Mew 151 Didn't they release a trailer promoting their cartoons lately?

You expect logic and consistency from a franchise like this?
I think they did, although I haven't seen it. I was wondering for a while what was there left after all the cancellations but I've been proven wrong so thanks for that.
Anyway, I do feel sorry for Boss Baby, considering how much ire it's now getting thanks to those statements being what the executives want. I haven't watched it, but it can't be that bad.

First boss baby movie is probably 'OK' but the ones that came after it are probably crappy
New theme music also a boxIt's definitely one of Dreamworks' weaker offerings. I can't imagine that the animators are happy with the show being a target of the internet's ire.
Netflix has revealed their schedule for their Geeked Week, featuring previews and new info about their content. This includes their animated entries such as:
- The Sea Best
- The Dragon Prince
- Arcane
- Inside Job
- SONIC Prime
- The Cuphead Show
Furthermore, at this year's Annecy Festival in the same June, Netflix is also revealing more upcoming works like Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio, the Sony Pictures Animation series Agent King, NIMONA and Kid Cudi's Intergalactic.
Oh boy, I will be a very unhappy camper if Redwall gets the axe.

It might be safe. The way the announcement was worded kinda hints that Penguin Random House is maintaining a significant interest in the property, there's an existing and (financially) successful animated adaptation from 1999-2002 and I'd hazard a guess that if Netflix cancelled it, they'd have to explain why to Penguin Random House, risk ticking them off, and lose access to one of the single largest holders of IP in the US.
It's an obviously good bet and cancelling it comes with potential really bad consequences.

Not Three Laws compliant. They clearly didn't mind upsetting Warner Bros with Wings of Fire, which in itself is a very popular and well-regarded book series that trended when they announced the show's cancellation in a huge social media outpouring. I doubt they'll care about Redwall either.

I think Netflix is trying to burn as many bridges as possible for some reason
New theme music also a boxSpeaking of which...
Get ready for yet another reason to be mad at Netflix, because Jorge R. Gutierrez's Kung Fu Space Punch movie won't be moving forward at Netflix.
And Gutierrez revealed this iteration (it's been going on and off for some stupid reason) was going to be set in the distant future of the world from Maya and the Three.
Pretty sure we didn't even know that much about KFSP, but the title alone was enough to get my attention. And now I'm seething at Netflix yet again. (angry emoji)
According to series co-creator Duncan Trussell, The Midnight Gospel has been quietly cancelled.
Seems like Netflix is going out of it's to burn every animated bridge it can get it's hands on, wasn't that show pretty much finished?
And Netflix wonders why people are unsubbing?
Help me. I can't get it out of my head. It's like those large companies that respond to financial difficulties by firing large chunks of the workforce rather than dip into their emergency funds to improve conditions. They want to make money but have forgotten that they have to spend it as well.

Too bad we wont see more stuff like this then...
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Oh shoot, I actually forgot that short existed. Jesus, what some people won't do.
Yeah, there's a few, but most of Netflix's animated content is licensed anime these days, even hough stuff like Centaurworld and things proved to be pretty popular.
Ugh, it's been two days and I'm still salty. I'm finding myself worried on whether or not WOF will get picked up by anyone else.
