Stormguard

As the group were busy with their individual talks, Weiss stood up and began floating around, looking for something to pass the time by. Eventually, he left the kitchen room and made his way to the dining room, where he encountered Amber.

"Ah, the Fire Guardian... What ails you?" spoke Weiss as he floated towards the eye-patch wearing Guardian.

Destroy it.

"...Nothing," murmured Amber as she turned her gaze from the book.

BURN. IT.

"I see, the others seem to be more active and social than thee."

They don't care about you, they just laugh and point at you. They consider you weak. THEY WANT YOU DEAD.

"Shut up..." murmured Amber as she held her head a bit.

"Excuse me?"

PROVE YOUR WORTH.

"I said shut up!" barked Amber as she glared at Weiss, before shooting a stream of flames at him.

Weiss narrowly avoids the stream of fire, before scurrying off to who knows where.

Failure! Prove yourself!

Practically snarling, Amber collapses to the ground and the room begins to change to one of a more modern room.

"Shut up... shut up... SHUT UP!"

As flames start to spread over Amber and the room, the entire castle begins to alternate and change to a modern house filled with flames and mocking voices.

Tortoran

The wicker pup just barked at Yuval, before a paintbrush, pencil, and a sketchbook appeared before him. Running around Yuval, the dog kept on barking and barking as more art utensils appeared. Eventually, there was enough art materials for a miniature studio. Barking louder and louder, the wicker pup began to attract people who eventually came towards the tall man and his newfound companion in interest.

"Oh? What's this?" spoke a beautiful female elf as she tilted her head, her arm wrapped around her husband's.

"A street artist? My, I haven't had myself painted in ages... What do you think?" spoke the male elf as he looked towards his wife.

"I think it'll be a brilliant idea! Besides, he has a wicker pup with him... surely he must be talented."

"May I have myself painted next?" asked an Orc male as he folded his arms. "I might need a portrait to show how mighty I am in front of my tribe."

Slowly but surely, more and more customers came to Yuval to have themselves painted.

The Wicker Pup just barked again as a pouch appeared before it. Running around the pouch, the Wicker Pup let out a joyful bark as it stopped by Yuval, wanting to be petted for its deeds... or to be fed some more bread? It was hard to tell.

Meanwhile...

"Hey! I was chasing that!" groaned Luka as she sat up, before snatching the mouse from the shadowy hand. Immediately, she ate the poor mouse in one gulp, before grinning like a child. "Yum!"

"So," Luka hopped up from sitting, and sat down next to Simon, "You seem to be pretty good with that shadow of yours! What else can your shadow do?"

Lucifer's Estate

Shuria thought for a bit, before just nodding her head. "The angels are dangerous, especially to us Demons ever since my father left uncle's side and left with half of the forces. Uncle Michael may listen to a guardian, but I don't know if he'll listen for long, especially if it concerns the World Lotus..."

Turning towards Skylar, Shuria patted the dragon on the head, more for herself than anything else. "I don't really know how to go about this, Guardians."

"If anyone can do anything positive, it is a Guardian," spoke another voice from behind the ground. The source of the voice proved to be Lucifer's. "You rescued my Daughter, something that was supposed to be impossible, yet here she is. I have a feeling that you are capable of doing anything if only you believe in yourselves."

"What would you suggest we do, father?" asked Shuria as she looked up at her dad.

"Meet with my brother, dear, and see if he will talk to you and the Guardians. As long as you're with the Guardians I am sure that they will not attack immediately."

"Okay... I'll be careful, father!" spoke Shuria as she grabbed Julian and Skylar by the arms, before leading them down the hallway and out of the castle.

Kill that wretched runt before it's too late... If you wish to return home, slay her!

The voice soon re-entered Julian's mind as the group exited the castle, begging to be obeyed.

Erix'aad to Gorgon Mountains

"Take care little one," spoke Hogger as he returned the hug to Shannon, before she and Lynn parted on the Airship.

As the whole of Erix'aad waved goodbye, a shadow also bordered the ship, staying out of sight as it reached the deepest parts of the ship in an instant.

Regardless, Shannon and Lyn would arrived at the Gorgon Mountains within an hour or so... perhaps they could talk to one another or explore the ship while they waited?

And with little effort, Choeun would find the cows a small distance away from the nest, all herded up within a pen of cheaply made materials. Choeun had many options laid before her; she could sneak past the harpies and free the cattle; kill the flying harpies; or she could just make a break for the cattle and free them immediately.

Decisions, decisions...

Airship—To The Gorgon Mountains

Shannon peeked over the railing of the ship for some time, but that soon got boring. Scenery could only distract her for a while.

Yawning, she stretched and then unobtrusively made her way to a door on the ship that led to the creaky interior.

What secrets could she uncover here?

Alone With Someone Else's Thoughts - Julian @ The Outskirts of Lucifer's Estate

Not getting killed on sight? How could Julian reject such a sweet offer. Still, if it would get him home, he'd bash a few angel heads together if need be...

As if on cue, the voice from before spoke up in his mind once more.

Kill Shuria? Julian turned to look at the strange child. It wouldn't be hard to do so. Not to mention, even if she appeared child-like, she was still ultimately not real. Just another strange illusion of this world. And yet...

Of everything Julian had ever encountered in his life, he was pretty sure he never heard a less trustworthy voice. Not to mention it was contradicting itself. Last night, it claimed she had to survive. Now she had to die? Julian was no mathematician but this shit didn't add up.

"So," began Julian, keeping an eye on the dragon guy in case he started getting trigger happy from the voice while addressing Shuria. "The angels want to protect the Lotus while you demons want to destroy it. Your father made it clear why he seeks its destruction. What of the angels? Why would they defend such an artifact of easily corruptible power? Do they seek to use it?"

Truth be told, Julian had no interest in what the answers for these questions were. Rather, he needed something to be outwardly doing as he delved into his own thoughts. Focusing his mind, he mentally grabbed onto the sound of the voice. Maybe... He attempted to speak back with his own thoughts.

Listen, whoever the fuck you are; if you want me to get killing, you're gonna need to be less of a super untrustworthy shit. For starters, who the hell are you? For follow-up, what caused you to change your mind? Protect Shuria, kill Shuria, which is it? In conclusion, give me one (1) good reason I don't figure out a way to find out what little hole you are hiding in and put you six (6) feet under instead.

Stormguard Spare Room - Nadia al-Amin

Nadia did tense and squeeze her hands together when Aileana showed her the snakes that laid beneath her glamour, but her feet stayed firmly in place while she took it all in.

I learned to cook in the hospital bed... Aileana did say that, didn't she? How could she have forgotten? It had been lost amongst all the banter and defensive fronts Aileana put up, slipping into the dark corners of Nadia's mind. But the walls were gone and Nadia saw, felt all the bitterness and venom... and the sadness that was the undercurrent beneath it all. Nadia opened her lips to respond but hesitated... before closing them.

And wrapping her arms around Aileana to embrace her.

"So not acceptance... resignation," Nadia spoke quietly, gently squeezing Aileana a bit more as she let in the woman's pain. "I... I can't imagine what it felt like, to... waste away like that... the pain and isolation...what it did to your mind, your sense of self... A-And I don't know a thing about fate... or even if I believe in it - d-don't tell my parents...!"

She let out a weak laugh. "But what I do know is... the world we left was unfair. Taking the lives of people who did nothing, trodding on the luck of people trying to live better... Leaving people in pain." Nadia set her head down gently on Aileana's shoulder and held her just a bit closer. "I won't change a thing about you... not if you don't want me to. I can't tell you how to feel about yourself now, what this world has made of you and what you want to make of yourself here... But..."

Nadia slipped back a bit, putting her hands on Aileana's shoulders, sniffling and smiling a teary eyed smile back to her. "I'll stand beside you where you go. I'll listen and take my share of pain for you - after all, you've been dealt far too much. But I won't have to do everything for you. Aileana... whoever you were before, the person standing in front of me is anything but weak, anything but useless, anything but pathetic."

"So..." Nadia paused awkwardly before letting out a chuckle. "S-Sorry, I don't really know how to end this. I won't tell you to be happy or to be yourself or anything like that. But whatever you'll be, I'll be there too."

Nadia rubbed her shoulder, blushing a bit at the friendship speech she blurted out, and gave out another laugh. "B-Besides, this is a fantasy world, right? Who's to say there isn't an actual Fate running around? All else fails, we can find them, beat them up, and ask them what the hell they were thinking doing that to you! Actually, that sounds like it'd be a lot of fun..."

Tortoran Inn

For a small moment, Simon thought it was kind of cute how upset Luka was over him stealing her fun. Maybe she wasn't so bad... nevermind.' She ate it! Alive! Was that even something foxes did? The teen didn't know, but the point was any fondness he might have possibly gotten for her was snuffed out in an instant.

And the fact that she grinned so innocently! "You... That thing could have been carrying all sorts of g-germs..." he sputtered out, trying to focus on anything other than the problem that she had eaten a live mouse as if she was some sort of snake. Wait, would she even know what germs are? There were so many problems with eating vermin found in the middle of an inn... Why did he have to be greeted with this in the morning.

Despite trying to not be obvious about his revulsion, Simon found himself scooting a bit away from the kitsune when she sat down next to him. Pointedly trying not to look at her face, the teen began thinking about the question. His shadow was just about the only special thing about him that he had noticed so far. While it was kind of cool, it paled in comparison to the healing and large cat from last night that the other guardians used.

"I... Um, well I'm not really s-sure?" he replied uncertainly, voice wavering. "It kind of just does what I want. I thought that I wanted it to catch the mouse so I could put it outside or something. Didn't realize the arm could stretch like that, though." Made sense it could do that, though. Shadows changed shape and size all the time, based on the location of the light source. "And I... I think it can hold onto things for me?"

With a thought, the shadowy arm came close to him. Simon stabbed it with his scissors. The metal cutting implement passed in the thin limb completely yet didn't poke out the other end. The experimenting guardian withdrew his hand from the shadow, shaking it a bit from the bizarre texture inside the shade, with the pair of scissors gone. "Um... there is a lot more space inside of it than there should be. That's... kind of useful? Maybe?" he said, more to himself than the fox.

He let out a small sigh, a hint of anger flashing over his face for a moment before being replaced with a more defeated look. "It really isn't that special compared to what the others were doing. Oh look at me I have a sort of tough thing to do things for me! So impressive!" he said sarcastically. "Guess I at least won't have to carry my things."

"I guess... Yeah we need to handle our obligations first..."

Tibalt sighed and scratched at his hand for a moment.

"I'm gonna need some more food before we ship out... Or are we not supposed to fly on a full stomach?"

He didn't really wait for the answer before starting to amble towards somewhere he could get food. By which I mean the dining room.

Stormguard Castle

Aileana had stiffened at the sudden embrace—only to relax and eventually return it as Nadia spoke her assurances, rendered quite silent because of how close they hit home. True—the height difference had made it a little awkward—but it didn't matter much to her, primarily since...

“...Oh god, I haven't had a hug in years...” she murmured in realisation, chuckling to herself quietly as she finally moved to wipe the tears away from her cheeks. “Ye get it, lass. I mean, ye actually... thank ye,” she smiled, giving the shorter girl an affectionate ruffle of the hair. “And as I said to Dullface and the boy-king last night; don't let Auntie Aileana scare ye. Just an old woman in a young body. Talking her head off like the crazy bat she is. Or snake. But it's nice to hear that maybe... well, maybe I'm not that crazy after all.”

She pulled away finally, not even bothering to disguise her fond smile now. A part of her wanted to do a little skip and a dance for successfully assimilating someone into her philosophical outlook, but she promptly instructed that part to zip its mouth shut and dive off the nearest cliff. What Nadia had done resonated—and it wasn't something she was going to just blow off like that.

Though at the sight of her blushing, a familiar glint of mischief returned to Aileana's eyes, and she tilted her head a fraction as she leaned forward into the girl's personal space.

“Hold on a minute. What's with the redness? Don't tell me you're into walking abominations now! Ah well. Spots are open—reservations available. Just make room for Altis when we get there, aye?” she teased. “Ooh—and I'll be tracking down the cause of this, don't ye worry. Whether ye stand by me or not. Though it is a remarkably sweet thing of ye to say– and are ye sure you're not crushing on lil old me?” she cheekily asked again, pinching the girl's cheek before straightening and looking down at her again a little more softly.

“Thanks, lass. You're all right, ye are.”

Very quickly turning around (to the point where an audible crunch of protesting cartilage was heard), Aileana strutted back over to the door, head held high and nearly skipping. Swinging it open, she stepped to one side—politely gesturing for Nadia to step through before her.

And completely missing the raging inferno.

“Ladies first.”

Yuval stared at the pup, dumbfounded "Wha-What are you doing st-"He said before quickly giving up, he sighed and picked it up, petting the dog and frowning as he spoke with dissapointment."<I didn't ask for it like this you know, you gotta ask before making stuff next time alright? I don't like doing stuff like this, makes me feel weird when I get charity from a dog. I asked last time cause I protected you that day so it was sort of okay, so don't just give me a ton of stuff like that all the time, got it?>"

Rosenberg chuckled and smiled after a harsh scolding. He couldn't refuse and offer like this could he? "<But thank you, I appreciate the help.>" The giant stopped picking up utensils as he noticed the crowd flocking to him specifically, he looked in amazement as a flood of people came faster than he could respond to even one and he hurriedly put whatever he could in the bag, keeping out only a canvas, a tray with erasers and a bunch of pencils. Rosen tapped his feet faster and faster, what the hell did they mean he must be talented because of the Wicker pup? He gulped, speaking hastily and nervously to his untreatable giant mass of customers.

"W-well oil painting portraits take more than one day usually, Plus I'd need a decent place to paint... ehhh but I can offer you a pencil portrait if you're all short on time! If you'd like a proper painting we can try to settle on something in a one on one conversation."

Stormguard - Nadia al-Amin

Nadia covered her face as Aileana switched back to her teasing self. "No no no; the blush was because I basically did a power of friendship speech and if this were an anime I'd be transforming into Sailor Moon or some shiiiit, suddenly firing off heart bubbles and what not," the aspiring chef rush-mumbled beneath her palms. "And hey, if there was someone who dragged us all here, they've got lots of explaining to do for everyone; we displaced yahoos gotta stick together, it's nothing romantic, honest-!!"

Steam was practically venting from Nadia's forehead as Aileana invited her through the door and she let her hands drop down. Nadia was trying to think of a comeback to Aileana's "Ladies first" that didn't sound too much like flirting ("Then by all means?" No, no, that'll definitely be misunderstood)...

Before she realized something was... off.

"...wait a sec." Nadia stepped outside to see the castle distorting around her, stone decor shifting back and forth between stucco walls, smooth wood flooring, dangling electric chandeliers. Her eyes focused in and out of the ever changing details, trying to focus and make reality choose one or the other but to no avail - either this was an illusion far beyond her or, perhaps more terrifyingly, reality itself was changing around them. "T-The hell's going on...?!" A warm breeze flowed in from the direction of the kitchen and the adjacent dining area, where everyone had been feasting just the other night - and as Nadia turned to look, she saw the billowing of smoke, the even greater distortion of heat... and the flicker of flame and ember.

"Goddammit why can't we get a lousy br-" Nadia cut herself off from complaining and turned back to Aileana, eyebrows furrowed. "I don't know what the hell's going on, but something is and I think someone started a fire...?!"

“Hm? Oh.”

Her eyes widened a fraction as she let go of the doorframe.

“Oh. Oh, damn it. Damn it, damn it, damn it...”

Anxiety clear in her voice, she abruptly shot her hand out towards Nadia's and rushed out the door, dragging the girl along with her as she carefully weaved them both through the flames. She was more than a little frantic, eyes dancing around in search for something as she eventually gave up the use of legs and settled for her characteristic slithering movements—still clutching Nadia and letting her trail behind like a wakeboard.

“Damn it lass, it better not be ye...” she muttered to herself, though it didn't seem directed at Nadia. Instead, she turned back—via revolving her head a full 180°—and raised her voice over the roar of the fire to address the young chef.

“Nadia, dear—how are ye at cooking on the fly? Some sort of knockout dish? Stress reliever? Fire nullification field inducer? Just in case we need it, ye know. No pressure!”

Something had told her the cows awaited a small distance from the nest and so cheaply enclosed. She really couldn't and wouldn't hold back her excitement.

The priestess touched down from her joyful leap and dashed toward the enclosure, humming a tune to herself. It was only mid-swing at the enclosure that she stopped abruptly, jerking her sword away in mid-air and planting herself face first into the ground that she thought about the little issue of how was she going to lead the cows back.

Well, it'd be their problem too. Choeun jumped to her feet, cutting through a random section of enclosure and cupping her hands over her mouth. "Ok, last call. Everybody out!"

Terry walked through the halls intending to find the throne room. Last night left a bad taste in his mouth, but today was a new day. He was determined to get some answers out of that Medan, and he was not going to take no for an answer. As he made his way through the castle halls, he noticed that they looked a little... different. Not different compared to how they were last night, but rather different compared to how they were 30 seconds ago. The halls began to look less and less like a castle, and more and more like a house from his world.

"What in the world..." Terry muttered to himself as he observed the changing scenery around him. And in the air was a familiar scent. The same smell as that small popcorn fire in the office three years ago. Only this one was stronger, and more acrid. Which probably didn't mean good news.

Terry followed the scent down the hall, and as he made his way to outside the dining hall, he noticed a pretty sizable fire spreading its way out from the room, with Aileana and Nadia standing outside.

He ran towards the noise (and, yknow, the giant fire) when he saw the scene in question.

"What the hell?" Dimitri paused for a moment, not entirely sure what to do at the moment. Then he remembered the whole magic thing he had.

With a bit of alteration, he sprayed water all over the room, hoping to put a stop to this.

“That'll work!” the serpent sage agreed, before tilting her head with a small amount of sympathy for the chef. “And I'd help ye avoid suffocation, but my hands are tied right now. Quite literally. Unless ye want mouth-to-mouth. I mean, I know ye do, but it'd be a little ridiculous to have it be one way...”

She trailed off at the sight of Terry, and promptly altered their course to meet him. Momentarily relinquishing Nadia from her grip so she could gather herself, Aileana proceeded to speak with a mixture of urgency and mild indignance—visibly bouncing on the balls of her feet and shooting glances towards the blaze.

“Oh, ye know. Had an intimate chat, opened up our hearts, cuddled, then both came out of the closet. Or spare room. Size was barely enough for the latter, though it had windows,” she shrugged, not even bothering to address the multiple euphemisms present in that vague and rushed explanation. “The better question is ‘what didn't ye do?’ Which is also something ye should be asking yourself, laddie. I know a firestarter—scarred even more than I. I thought she'd be attended, but apparently not. Posttraumatic stress disorder is clearly something one can handle alone. My mistake. I'll be more lenient with leaving walking fireballs behind. Now ye coming or what, lad? Or will I have to spank ye into submission?” she finished, complete with a pointed glare as she hopped from foot to foot even more intensely.

The Outskirts of Lucifer's Estate

Skyler's head mane was a bit ruffled by the petting. The dragon didn't fix it or respond to the petting itself, he just accepted it. He was also passive about being yanked out of the castle, he was expecting breakfast first but guess that's not happening now.

Julian asked about the angels and than he thought about the voice from last night. Was it from the angels? Maybe not, the voice wanted the angels and demons to fight each other. But, maybe somebody from one side profited from the war. That would make a demon more likely to be the cause since they were in demon territory? But maybe there was an angel spy or angels could send long distance messages? Man, it's hard to figure out what the voice wanted when it only said one line to him. Maybe he has to wait for the next message.

When Julian asked about the angels, Skyler kept quiet. It's unlikely, but maybe it'll give clues about whoever's sending the message.

Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.

Crispy Hallway.

...

Mason's first words, after what may have been the best nights sleep of his life, were not ones he hoped to utter again...not after that one Thanksgiving.

"Um...the Hallway's on fire..."

Yes, it was blatantly pointing out the obvious. YES it was likely because he was still groggy from the fact he had a good nights sleep (And, evidently, slept in well past everyone else from the fact everyone else was up, alert, and currently battling said fire). So, as he rubbed his eye with the palm of his hand, he held up a hand in a flash of light, an Axe appeared in his grip, bright blood red and double bladed on both sides.

"You guys need help, or you got this?" He asked, stifling another yawn.

...and into the Fire - Nadia al-Amin

Nadia was making about making a dumb quip like "Whoops I think I left the oven on," but Aileana went ahead and beat her to the punch. Nadia looked over to the side to avoid Aileana seeing her embarrassment and she took a moment to compose herself. A second later Nadia turned back around and gave Aileana some Tupperware from literally nowhere.

"Here's some chicken pot pie; hope it'll work! Just keep from overheating it for too long, and don't eat the plastic!" Nadia spotted Dmitri splashing water on the raging fire (Good, hopefully that'll help) and Mason approaching with an axe (Shit, ax murdere- oh wait it's just that guy), glad that people were here to help out rather than just jab her with loaded questions, but with the seemingly magical nature of the fire and the shifting environment she wondered how effective their efforts would be. "Hey, Mr. Ax Man; over here! Sort of plus side, all the stone doors are turning into wooden doors - god bless modern fragile architecture. Negative side, flammability. We should pair up and look for anyone still around and get them the hell out, especially if this weird reality warping is keeping them trapped."

Nadia abruptly shouted. "BOOK! I need you now! Show me civilians nearby who are at risk of the fire! Except for else, obviously!" Nadia held out her hand and wherever Weiss was she called him back into the ether of nothingness, and hopefully to the palm of her hand.

Airship

Firearms, and now aerial transport. Able to carry several passengers stably, too. Lynn briefly entertained the thought that she would encounter artificial intelligence too, though certainly with the video game-y aesthetic this place likes to run with. The exact workings of said artificial intelligence too, if any, which should be distant from what she knows. While her idle thoughts gave her nothing to work with, it did put her in the mood for some more finding out how stuff worked around here.

Lynn made her way from the deck to the helm/cockpit(?) of the ship, which boasted an array of dials and gauges not unlike the modern ferries she knew. Trying to not disturb the captain from their duties, she slowly said, "excuse me, but how does all these dials and the like help in getting this ship where it needs to be?"

Timers to measure time, thermometers to measure thermomets, mometers to measure mom, and measuring containers to measure measurements.

Eastern Kingdom

Weiss immediately returned to Nadia's hands after being unsummoned and resummoned.

"There are servants and the like everywhere, ma'am. The King and the former undead are in the throne room... however, I suspect that they too are being dragged into the Fire Guardian's magic as well; rude being trying to set me ablaze."

As Weiss finished speaking, the flames seemed to come alive, taking humanoid shapes and forms as they spread faster and faster.

"This is your fault..."

The flames began to speak with hate and agony as they spread across the castle.

Hell, even the water being produced by Dimitri seemed to have little affect over the crude fire magic being released about. In fact, it just seemed to anger the flames even further. The fire that took human shape just tossed themselves at the Guardians like living fire bombs.

Meanwhile...

Amber clutched herself as fire covered the poor girl, making her go even further towards the deep end.

Worthless...

The voice in her head had taken over completely, making her magic go out of control.

"I found the source of this magic, but I can't get close," spoke Dante, now human thanks to the meal last night, as he tried cutting down the humanoid flames to no avail.

Canna had taken aim at Amber, but each time she fired the flames would just devour the bullets like candy. "Damn, nothing is working!"

"Where are the other Guardians?!" barked Gregori as he swung his spear at a humanoid flame elemental to no avail.

Outskirts of Lucifer's Estate

"I believe uncle and the rest of the angels seek to protect it because it is sacred, and because they believe it is what is keeping this world alive. I doubt they want to use it for themselves, though," spoke Shuria as she looked up at Julian.

"Such nonsense..." murmured the voice in Julian's head as the group began making their way out from the land of demons.

"Kill the demon child and be done with her!"

Seemingly ignoring the threats of Julian, the demanding voice rang loud in Julian's head, almost as if commanding him to do its bidding.

It would seem that the voice was eager to be rid of Shuria and refused to reveal itself and its true intentions...

Tortoran

"I'm sorry, I wanted a little snack..." murmured Luka as she took notice of Simon's repulsion. "Though, I think your shadow is pretty cool!" murmured Luka as she looked in awe at the shadow. "It's like you have a companion with you forever!" she said as she bounced a bit on the bed. "Least you'll never get lonely, right?"

Suddenly, as if one cue, the Wicker Pup came bursting into the room, barking and wagging its tail as it looked at the group.

"Oh, look, it's that man's dog!" spoke Luka as she tried to pick up the wicker pup, who just gnawed at her hand in defiance. "Ow!" Luka rubbed her hand, "Bad dog!"

Barking, the Wicker Pup looked up at the group, before hopping onto Simon's lap and curling up into a ball of fluff.

Strange... Whatever happened to its previous master, Yuval?

Airship - To Gorgond Mountains

As Shannon looked around the interior of the ship, she would find that there were crates filled with supplies, ammunition, and other various things, along with Goblins taking an inventory check. It would appear that this ship was more than just for taking travelers to places. Though, despite looking innocently enough, there was a sense of dread in the room... almost as if Shannon was being watched by someone or something.

Meanwhile, the Goblin captain of the ship turned his attention to Lynn and her question.

"Ah, a curious one, aren't you?" Pointing towards the dials and what not, the captain began to explain what each of the dials, meters, and levers did. "Each one serves a different purpose, lass. Though, no matter what, we are to never press the big red button," he said as he pointed towards a rather large red button next to Lynn. "Only for emergencies are we supposed to press it."

To press, or not to press it, this was the thought that entered Lynn's mind...

Farahelm

As Choeun released the cattle, a horde of harpies came about from their nest and flew towards her after hearing the racket that was caused by the cattle being freed.

"Squ~awk! Intruder! They're taking what is ours!" cawed a rather larger looking bird creature with two heads; the leader of the nest. Diving towards Choeun with its flock, the horde of harpies began to squawk and caw as they all began to attack Choeun mercilessly.

It would appear that this was either a fight or flight moment...

Stormguard Castle

“Excellent! Now—off to the epicentre herself! Either ye look for King Babyface or come with me!” Aileana proclaimed as she snatched the container of food, breaking out into quite a gangly but short-lived sprint before slipping back into her usual slithering to keep up her speed. The humanoid constructs of fire were either weaved around or batted away with her corrupted sword in her off-hand—the aura of darkness about it dimming the light of the flames as it passed next to them.

“Oh, off with ye! She's been through enough! I can tell, ye know!” Aileana snarled, growing progressively more livid the further she got down the corridors. She could hear the gunshots. She could only pray the guard hadn't done anything stupid.

It was with this in mind that she weaved around the corner in a rush and made a beeline for the scarred girl as soon as she saw her pained form. She was faintly aware of the bullets blowing chunks out of her and leaving a trail of snakes behind, but she didn't care. She could fix it later.

But one thing she wasn't sure she could fix was little Amber.

“Shh, lass. Don't ye worry. Auntie Aileana's here now, with some delicious...”

She paused.

“...um, chicken pot pie I guess. Make ye feel better. Probably because it's not my cooking.”

This attempt at humour was rendered rather weak in tone, primarily because the snake sage wasn't quite sure if Amber could hear her or not. She was primarily searching her, actually—waiting for whatever reaction she might have. And if it meant being half-charred herself, it was worth it in her book.

Airship

Shannon could feel eyes on her. Things were not right...

Summoning a large dire wolf, almost as large as a car, she hugged it and whispered, "Smell anything out of place?"

Hopefully, the wolf's keen nose would know what was up.

I wear the skin of the Elder Things, having come unto my own.
