So Valyx and Phares have been released now, which is cool. The intro cutscene was annoying to watch, though. I tire of that kind of good guy naiveté. "Sure they were an evil empire and literally put whole villages to the sword and killed children, but they're totally different now! Let bygones be bygones, and holding grudges for atrocities committed against you is bad!"

The gist I'm getting is it's their try at fixing the asinine character motivations Valyx had in his debut, where his entire character could be summed up as My Country, Right or Wrong and he came off as Lawful Stupid as a result. So just tweak it so he was really loyal to the people and trying to mitigate casualties for the people that couldn't leave Dyrenell, and then have the other characters conversing among themselves feel conflicted about Valyx while noting he wasn't directly involved in every atrocity Dyrenell committed.

Ever since the Sacred Tree, the writing in general's been like that- paving over a lot of the stuff from earlier in the story so that it makes more sense in the grander scheme of things.

The Dyrenell Empire also tended to conscript a lot of civilians, which is why we’ve also had events where regular soldiers are either harmless or well meaning. While having other ones lead by LOKI!/etc. where soldiers cause mayhem or Emile being Emile.

I've been waiting on Valyx since I started playing the game and as his appearance felt like it was coming closer and closer I've been saving for him.

He came on the first pull. Not even the first ten-pull, the ticket pull I use to build up a pity rate for the ten-pull.

Seems like we're not getting any new valentines units this year...

Also, Nina looks to be quite powerful. As in, full-party-revival powerful.

Nina being able to instantly ready everyone's skills seems nuts. Granted, it's a long way to get there, but when that boss breaks, Nina can open it to a world of hurt :o

If I had a nickel every time a Greatwyrm took a humanoid form as a response to Emile's shenanigans, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice.

Okay, now that Chapter 24 (Part 2) is out, who here thinks we will end up having to fight Satan again? And not just because Loki wants him released?

Now before you act like this is coming out of my ass, understand the context. At the end of the chapter, Ilia discusses using the power of the Primal Mark to forge a distorted world as a means to counteract Beren and Xenos. Since it is known that Beren has a Primal Mark as the gate for Xenos, it is hypothesized that the other Auspexes have the same. Four already work with the team - Ilia, Zethia, Zena and Sheila. But if I recall correctly, there were five elements and five Greatwyrms, Chthonius notwithstanding. Thus, it would be logical that there would be five Auspexes. However, there is a distinct possibility that another Auspex is out there that we don't know about, since Zethia and Zena are parallel instances of the same person. That brings us to Auspex Origa, whose soul is imprisoned within Satan. In order for the heroes to employ her services should they be required, they will need to extract her soul from within Satan; no doubt Loki would be horrified if they pull it off, especially if they 'help' him release Satan for that very purpose.

So, what do you think? Am I crazy, or is it crazy enough to work?

It would be quite a Powerful As The Plot Demands if the Primal Greatwyrms were all it took to free Origa when an army including Bahamut-powered Zethia couldn't.

That was only half of Bahamut since he’s split between Nedrick and Zethia.

But man Elysiums plans were so blatantly doomed to fail he planned to revive the Progenitor so Xenos removes possibility and then defeats Xenos so he could oversee the world free of it, requires Elysium to become more powerful than Bahamut, and requires him to not have been mucking things up for 1000 years.

Xenos even calls out the moment he wished for a world without possibility was the moment he assured Xenos victory and his own defeat in his dragon story.
