@tuckerscreator What's the time stamp for when the streamer discusses Lola?

Man that is some complicated shit.

Lola’s original body is very sexualized cause of how called to attention it is, with various shots and her overall behavior clearly framing “This character is a sexy character”.

That is interesting to think about.

I think the best choice in this sorta situation is to keep the original body type but just treat the character like any other. Don't treat the character as any more sexual than any other character.

It's not the shape that's the problem, it's how the movie treats it.

Great solutions to a problem if the film was made by film makers interested in listening to the sections of their audience that aren't complete and total dickheads. Unrealistic solution to what is basically a glorified shoe commercial to a sequel that's a glorified shoe commercial that's supposed to be one of the capstones Lebron James career before he retires in his Los Angeles house and never has to worry about a single dime before he retires as he stars in a movie that will be remembered fondly by Gen Zers and 'mehed' by everyone else.

The people who made the decision to...'reduce' Lola Bunny's busy and give her a jeresy didn't do it for feminist reasons. They did because they were like. 'Alright we have to include Lola Bunny her design is different due to adaptational evolution let's just...shave a few pounds off her, give her an actual jersey, try to score points with the ladies, and if we're lucky get some horny chuds to do our marketing for us. Wins for everyone.'

This fanart about how she had breast reduction surgery to play basketball easier is the funniest thing I've seen come out of this.

Here's another image pointing how posing and costumes can also affect how sexualized a character is.

Right, and also the way she talks. Note for instance how she tells Bugs not to call her "doll", which ends up having an air of "not now but maybe someday".

Another side in this is how most female characters are restricted to a clearly feminine design while male characters are not restricted to a masculine design. Plus the whole Pantsless Males, Fully-Dressed Females thing.

Themyscira will be in Space Jam 2.

In another interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Malcolm D. Lee confirmed that when James meets Lola Bunny, it’ll be on DC’s Amazonian island of Themyscira, as seen in the recent Wonder Woman movies. “We wanted to meet her with the Amazons, trying to find greener pastures for herself,” Lee explained. “As she says in the movie, there’s more to her than just being a Tune.”

Yeah, this is definitely supposed to be feminist. Never mind that Amazons traditionally aren't exactly feminist, rather the opposite actually. On the Sliding Scale of Gender Inequality, they usually rank way down on "Men? What men?" And from what I understand, that still applies to the Amazonians from Wonder Woman, even if Wonder Woman herself is a feminist.

I would be very worried about these creators' feminist credentials if they think that is what feminism should look like. grin

And I guess we can make a stub for the movie with what we know so far. Just don't try to trope the movie in advance.

It depends on the writer. In the myths, the Amazons were sometimes depicted as being okay with men (Hippolyta wanted to marry Heracles).

But is that the Amazons as a whole, or just individual Amazons?

Also Hyppolita is a rather complicated example, since it also ties into the patriarchal idea of men's conquest of strong women. In that regard, her marrying Heracles is a sign of her subjugation by Heracles, and by extension by Greek patriarchal models.

It's the same story with those female Viking warriors you hear of lately. A few counter-examples does not make for an egalitarian society, and can even be seen as a reinforcement of patriarchal society.

But is that the Amazons as a whole, or just individual Amazons?

If we're talking about the WW Amazons, they have been shown to be a complicated people. Some are fine with men, others not so much. As I said, it varies depending on the writer.

The Heracles example is just one example. In other stories, the Amazons had okay relationships with men. The man-hating murderers version is one that certain misogynists created because they couldn't deal with women who could fight.

And since the Amazons are public domain characters any way, WB can portray them as positively or negatively as they can just as was the case millennia ago.

Yeah, it probably depends on which Greek was telling the story.

But aren't the WW Amazons generally portrayed rather negatively? That's what that sliding scale page seemed to suggest anyway.

They usually range from a Mary Suetopia to being a complicated people. Totally negative portrayals don't happen that often but they really stand out annoyingly when they do appear.

So Lola is an Amazon now? Soon she will be Wonder Bunny, too.

I expect a lot of crossover art soon just from that.

Also, from this I infer that all Toons will be spread over other WB universes because they are retired, and probably that Le Bron has to collect them all from those universes.

So then the question is, which Toon would be in what universe?
